Is Hostel Right for Me???
Hey All,
I’m planning an off season trip to Europe next month and am wondering if a hostel would be good for me. I’m 40 years old, young at heart and ready to have a great time in Amsterdam but wondering am I too old for staying in hostels?
I’d stay in hotels but hostels are better for my budget. Also not sure but am I getting this right that private rooms can be had for only $10-15 per night? How do they do this?
cheap RT flights FROM Europe to USA?
My brother lives in Toulouse, and is trying to come this summer with his wife and 3 kids to visit, and attend a one-and-only family reunion. The prices are around $1500-1600 per person. We were going to help him with the cost, but we’re all in sticker shock. Does anyone have ideas for the cheapest way to do this FROM France, with a 6 and 9 year old (thus, no 24 hr. 5-stop flights)? Dates are flexible, but around July 24 to Aug 17. Thanks for any info you can provide!
France day trip
Has anyone done a day trip to either normandy invasion or mt saint michel? My question is if it is possible to do both in one day? Thinking about renting a car and leaving first thing in the morning and trying to visit both in a day. I know preferably a day at each would be great, but if this is the only opportunity to see either, is it worth it to try and do both? If not, which would you recommend seeing? thanks
Look for advice on travel between countries!
This summer (May 28-June 17) myself and two friends will be traveling to Lisbon, Barcelona, Paris, Venice, Florence, Rome, and Athens. Our flights to and from are already booked and now I’m struggling to find the best way to get around within the countries. I think we are going to fly from Rome to Athens just to save time/energy getting there by rail. I’ve been looking at railpass but I’m not sure how much it is really going to save me.
I was hoping to take night trains when possible.Help with Travel into France Out of Prague
So I’m planning a European trip to see Oktoberfest with 3 friends. We don’t want to only due Munich and figured it would be quite a bit cheaper to not have to fly in & out of Munich during that time.
Our plan is to start in the CDP region of France near Orange (so flying into Lyon, Marseille, or Montpellier are all options w/ the last being the most desirable). Then we were going to travel to Munich then to Prague and fly home from there. We’re willing to fly into or out of other places and take ground transit if it’s faster, cheaper, better, etc.
4 european citizens going on a EuroTrip
Hello,
Three friends and I, all European citizens of different countries, are going on a Eurotrip this summer. We will leave from New York City around June 7th. Two people under 18 and two people over 18.
Our plan so far: Rome 3 days; Milan 3 days; Nice 7 days; Barcelona 4 days, Paris 4 days; Amsterdam 4 days; Berlin 5 days, Copenhagen 4 days, Stockholm 4 days; Oslo 4 days and end up in the North of Norway in Onoy (we have to be there by the 23rd of July).
Do you think we should get a round trip ticket from NYC to London, and then fly to rome?
France and Italy in 10 days
Hi, i am planning a trip to Italy and France this fall (September 2010) with my friend…and i would like suggestions on good places to go to…thinking of Paris and Rome (mostly cuz we will be flying in or out of these places…) but would also like to one of the less-touristy, seaside, cultural places in these 2 countries…the trip is around 10 days. We are flying from the US…thanks!

Places to Avoid
Hey everyone, I know this is the favorite places thread but I was wondering which cities should be avoided when backpacking alone. I am a 20 year old 6 foot 3’ 200lb male but its still good to be careful. I will be traveling from athens greece through italy, switzerland, germany, fance, and spain. I would love to know where not to stop along the way. thanks!
