Last Minute Questions
Hey everyone!
My group and I are on our last leg. Finals are coming to a close and we have roughly a month before we leave (May 24th). Just before we leave I wanted to touch base on a few questions I still have; everyone has been a great help and I’m very greatful. You’ve made this much less stressing for me.
1. Should I book my first hostel now? Or a few weeks before leaving? and Should I book any hostels further into the trip?
*2. The Eurostar Chunnel ticket is quite expensive, is it ok to get economy 2nd class? The fallouts are no refunds or lounge use.
HOSTEL - ROOM TYPE???
Can someone please help us understand room types when booking a hostel?
Were 4 girls and looking for PRIVATE rooms only.
So for example, if the room type is “4 bed private ensuite”…why are you able to select up to 9 guests??
Any clarification would be VERY appreciated!!!
Slow travel on a budget in Ecuador
Hi!
I´ve been living the slow travel lifestyle in Ecuador for two years and have recently been on the boards answering questions about travel here, the Galapagos, buses, volunteer options, safely, you name it. I have volunteered and worked at a hostel, led volunteers to the coast for three weeks, and worked at a really good Irish bar that boasts teachers, guides, hostel owners, travel agents, Spanish students, gap year travelers, bike guides, etc.

new to hostels
Hello everybody again
I will be new on this thing of shared dorms with strangers and will be such an experience that I don’t know if I am prepared to it.
How is the safety there? Do I have to sleep with an eye open looking at my baggage or how does this works out?
How do the shared bathrooms works? Are this like big open shower bathrooms or will people have some privacy in cubics?
When I first started planning my trip, I consider like 40 per night, but now I am seeing it might be a lot more if I want a private room, so probablly not an option.
first trip to europe. what to see, what to do, how to plan???
I am currently planning my first trip to Europe and I have no clue where i should start planning. I would like to travel in mid May for a 1-1/2 months. I have never left Canada and i have no clue where i should start planning. any suggestions?
linen
Just a quick question, when a hostel says they offer linen are they referring to sheets only? or blackets as well.
I’m planning my trip for oct and don’t really what to lug around a sleeping bag or blanket…but i don’t want to freeze at night either.
My first trip to Europe... Hostels or Couch Surfing???
So this is my first trip to Europe… There’s not much planned at all. I just graduated college and figured I’d wait out the job market by going traveling… so I’ll be going alone for the most part.
As for the trip, I don’t need much structure; I figure that I’ll probably want to play a lot by ear. That way I can stay places that I like for longer. I posted a tentative itinerary, and haven’t solidified anything. I’ve listed some specifics of my trip below.
London - A few hours - Need a meeting spots and hostel recommendation
Hello all,
I need help, I am flying in with a friend to LGW at 07:10 on June 24 and we are meeting a friend from a 10:35 flight into London Stansted. We only have a few hours to play before 2 of us have to be back at Stansted to catch a 17:05 flight, while we leave one friend behind in london for a night. The one staying back needs a cheap hostel(advice?) near our meeting point that’s convenient for getting transport to LHR the next day (afternoon).
