Help with my summer 2012 itinerary please!
Hi everyone! I am looking for some help with my itinerary for backpacking Europe this summer from the end of May through the beginning of July. My boyfriend and I are going for exactly six weeks and I am a little concerned that we are trying to fit too much into a too short amount of time. We are flying into London on May 29 and flying out of Milan on July 10, so those are set in stone.
Itinerary help- Ireland, England, Scotland
I’m planning a trip this upcoming summer (2012). It’s going to be my and my friend; we’re both 20 year old girls from New York and will be traveling from May 30- June 21 in Ireland, England, and Scotland. I have a basic itinerary planned but will be the first to admit i have NO idea what i’m doing.
4 days in scotland -where should one go to ?
Hello all !
2 of us are planning a 4 day short haul in Scotland – first time in uk ( so no clue as of now ) . Our base is Liverpool and we are planning to do a couple of days in edinburgh. I am keen to also go and see the St Andrews golf course ( and also play a round if possible ! ) . Also , would like to go to the highlands and see a couple of distilaries if possible … Is it expecting a bit too much
? Would like your suggestions and thoughts here please . This we plan to do in end september . In case this is possible , how would you advise we move around in Scotland ?
Best/cheapest way to get around the UK?
I’m going to the UK for two weeks and visiting England, Wales, and Scotland during this. I’m mostly trying to figure how to get between the three areas, as I’ll mostly be stationary within them (except Scotland, but I’m taking a tour that provides transportation there). I’ve discovered that trains can be outrageously expensive in Britain, so I was looking into coaches/buses. Does anyone have any experience in this area?
I stumbled upon megabus.com, and it seems like they has some super cheap fares (kinda like the easyJet of buses) but are the buses nice? Do they have toilets?
Tour Britain and Ireland On Line (Video + Stills)
The film “My Pub Runneth Over” presents a comprehensive journey to Britain and Ireland, including England (London, Stonehenge, walled cities & a castle), Wales, Ireland (kiss the Blarney Stone, Dublin, Cliffs of Moher), and Scotland (Edinburgh, the highlands, bagpipes & Loch Ness), plus interviews, and, of course, pubs.
The video can be seen on the web, if you have a high speed internet connection.

Europe on my birthday!
Hi everyone, so I’ve been really depressed the past few days because I didn’t get accepted to a teaching position in France for the fall (I was waitlisted, but called today and found out I’m near the bottom of that list and it’s very unlikely I’ll get a spot). So, I’ve decided to think positively (hard to do when your ego just took a huge blow, but I’m trying in between the crying), and I’ve been thinking about backpacking for a few weeks around my birthday in September.
