Best/cheapest way to get around the UK?
I’m going to the UK for two weeks and visiting England, Wales, and Scotland during this. I’m mostly trying to figure how to get between the three areas, as I’ll mostly be stationary within them (except Scotland, but I’m taking a tour that provides transportation there). I’ve discovered that trains can be outrageously expensive in Britain, so I was looking into coaches/buses. Does anyone have any experience in this area?
I stumbled upon megabus.com, and it seems like they has some super cheap fares (kinda like the easyJet of buses) but are the buses nice? Do they have toilets?
Tour Britain and Ireland On Line (Video + Stills)
The film “My Pub Runneth Over” presents a comprehensive journey to Britain and Ireland, including England (London, Stonehenge, walled cities & a castle), Wales, Ireland (kiss the Blarney Stone, Dublin, Cliffs of Moher), and Scotland (Edinburgh, the highlands, bagpipes & Loch Ness), plus interviews, and, of course, pubs.
The video can be seen on the web, if you have a high speed internet connection.
This is a free, non-commercial, streaming video on the Windows Media Player. No ads and no strings attached. I still sell absolutely nothing.
Caernarfon Castle
Landmark in Caernarfon, United Kingdom
Wales
So I have started to kind of be interested in visiting Wales when I’m going backpacking, but I haven’t seen a lot of people who have opinions or have visited Wales. If you have visited or are interested in Wales, tell me if it’s history and culture is really is as beautiful as the pictures and if the sheep and castles are really that interesting, or other information or advice on Wales! Thanks
