Hello! This is my first post to this site! I am taking 16 consecutive days in October to backpack Western Europe. This has kind of been a last minute adventure for me because I just found out that I have to conduct some business near Hannover, Germany and I wanted to take advantage of the free flight/travel over there. So I will vacation for 16 days, then conduct business and then spend the following weekend in a city prior to my flight back to the USA.
I am in need of some help planning how to best utilize my 16 days prior to my business and my weekend following my business. My trip will begin on Saturday, October 2rd and end on Sunday October 25th. I am pretty sure I would like to fly into Munich, Germany to catch the last two days of Oktoberfest. So here are some of my thoughts so far:

3 thru 7 – Munich (Oktoberfest, tour city, Dachau, Neuscwanstein, Salzburg) Take overnight train to Paris
8 thru 11 – Paris Take overnight train to Berlin
12 thru 14 – Berlin Take evening train to Prague
15 thru 16 – Prague Take Evening train to Vienna
17-18 – Vienna Get evening flight to Hannover
19 thru 23 – Work Flight or train to Amsterdam
24-25 – Amsterdam Afternoon flight back to USA on 25th

This itinerary and locations are not set in stone so I am very open to suggestions and other ideas. I was kind of interested in seeing Interlaken, Switzerland but didn’t think I could fit it in. Please let me know your experiences and thoughts! Also, I was researching the different train tickets to get. I am 29 years old so it appears as though I don’t qualify for the “youth” rail passes. I believe I should probably get the Eurail Global (10 days in 2 months) pass. I believe that this should work in the countries I have listed above and allow for some flexibility if something doesn’t go as planned. Does this sound right?

My suggestion would be to leave out Paris. It’s just kind of out of the way, and that way you can add more days to prague and vienna which you are at the moment cutting short. This would also save you from jumping around too much. You could go Munich Vienna Prague Berlin Hanover Amsterdam, instead of doing full circle and then back to Hanover. Paris is wonderful, and I am from there, but it just does not seem to fit into your trip desires right now, unless you were to fly into Berlin and then go to Prague Vienna Munich Paris then Hannover.
Try looking at point to point tickets. They will save you a lot of money overall if you do enough research. I will not be buying one even though I will be visiting 9 countries this summer, i found cheaper point to point prices.
Also, one way flights from the US to Europe and then back may be more expensive than your company is willing to pay.

I am leaving from Atlanta, GA with $3000 for 36 days
Amsterdam, Hamburg, Berlin, Prague, Mostar, Sarajevo, Bol, Makarska, Florence, Málaga, Seville, Barcelona, Ibiza Town

I would agree about cutting Paris. You’re gonna waste a lot of time going back and forth from France to Germany.

I have budgeted $3000
