We are travelling to Italy in July. I have 2 kids, ages 4 and 7. I am interested in affordable accomodations that are kid friendly and close to interesting places. Looks like we will be flying into Rome, and heading north. Looking for a combo of rural and urban places. We will be spending about three weeks in Italy. Any suggestions as to itineraries as well as accomodations would be appreciated.

I’d say have a look on travelsupermarket for accomodation and details, (location maps, reviews etc) and for an itinerary, I’d recommend, vatican city (paricularly the sistine chapel), shopping in Milan, Pisa (leaning tower), the Colosseum, Various art museums (Carravagio, Michelangelo although the kids may not be too interested in this.) and try and catch a Italian seria A football game (Inter milan, a.c. milan or Roma). I apologise for the unstructedness of this, just my thoughts as they came.
