Advice on my trip
Mon, 05/07/2012 - 19:59
I will be traveling alone most likely and would love some feedback on my trip. In my own research I have found that transportation is undoubtedly the highest expense, so I am opting for fewer places, but a longer amount of time in them. I am still up in the air about Munich, Prague, and Berlin. The other places are definite musts. Any critiques or feedback on my itinerary and tips as far as flight vs. bus vs. train between these places would be very much appreciated. I am also concerned about safety so any of you women who have been traveling solo and have tips on certain places, please share your insight. Thanks!

All of the cities in your itinerary are major tourist stops, so no real issues for solo travelers. You may attract a little unwanted attention in Spain and Italy, but no real problems. Be firm if you want someone to leave you alone and don’t hesitate to raise enough of a fuss to attract attention if you feel uncomfortable. Sunglasses can help avoid eye contact that might be misinterpreted as a come-on.
I think you’d have a better time if you made some effort to get off the beaten tourist track and actually see and experience Europe. I would spend far more time in Eastern Europe and less time in the capital cities of Western Europe.
Thanks for the feedback. I will definitely look into that!
