Just flew CPH-DUS r/t this week. Good airline. Not like a “budget” airline at all. New Recaro leather seats, video shorts playing on overhead lcd screens, sandwich and soft drink service (for free!), magazines and newspapers when you board, friendly helpful staff, would definitely fly them again.

Air Berlin is NOT an uber-cheap airline, but with advance purchase, they are very good value — in my opinion. They have a €29 one way sale on many routes currently, for example. With taxes and fees (and they added like €6 to book with credit card—the most I think I’ve ever paid to book anything with a credit card), my trip came to €144 return. Not bad for just 14 days advance purchase, and much less than KLM, SAS, et. al. wanted.
