Hi

We are planning on going to Athens in August and would like to visit Dubrovnik after that. Does anyone know the best way to do this? Can we do it by train….eurail?

Thanks

Flying is the best way. Use www.whichbudget.com to see which budget airlines fly which routes. Next best option would be overnight ferry to Bari, Italy then another ferry (probably also overnight) to Dubrovnik. Overland via train would be 34 to 40 hours to Split and then a ferry (8 to 10 hours) or bus to Dubrovnik.

I looked into this itinerary the other day when someone else was asking about it. There don’t seem to be any direct flights between Athens and Dubrovnik. One of the best flight options I found was Sky Europe from Athens to Vienna, then Vienna to Dubrovnik http://www.skyeurope… Also check ITA and Mobissimo to see what’s available for the dates you want to travel, but many of the itineraries I found were either very expensive or 15 hours long.

Imesha2000,

IMO: the best way to get from Athens to Dubrovnik? That would really depend on the rest of your itinerary. Sorry for complicating a simple question.
