the reason is because i am manipulating the image once it is uploaded. an image is uploaded and then in the teaser i make it square and 85×85, for the buddy list i make it square and 65×65, for the profile picture (once you click on it in a profile) is the full large image.

because i am doing stuff like resizing and cropping on the fly, it does not maintain the animated properties…
