Hi Nat,

I have lived and travelled Europe now for the past three years as i have 9 years bars experience. In spain you can expact to get around 750 to 1000 Euro a month but i would say more the bottom end depending on were you wanna work and for how long the tips aspect are very good in Spain, the spanish tend to tip alot if the price is right for them to tip. If you wanted to work in tourist places then of course try to get into one of the big hotels and you can make anywere from 1500 to 2000euros a month. I am Irish and live in spain but at present i am back in Ireland because in Salamance were i live it is very hard to get anywork but hoping that soon it will all change. Anway best of luck and let me know if you get anything in the future.

My friend worked in Fuerteventura last year in quite a funky bar, apparently the money was only just enough to live off but she said the whole experience was priceless – pure good fun. I’m thinking of going out there this summer and have been checking out which resort to stay in http://www.thomascoo… and
http://www.sunnyfuer… but if anyone has recommendations I’d love to hear them.

I am also going travelling around Europe this Summer for the first time and I dont know where to start looking for work! Preferably bar/restaurant work, but any will do! Do most places look for English speakers? Im not sure wether im travelling alone yet or with a friend so any websites or advice would be very much appreciated! Thanks a bunch, Daisy. Smile

Hi,
Me and two close friends have made an agreement to travel Europe for the better part of 6 months after we finish high school. We will all be at least 18 and thus viable to work legally. We’ve all got EU citizenship, but are very inexperienced in travelling abroad. We’re looking to earn most of our money during our stay; so I would appreciate some information on how easy it’s to get a bar job, without any previous experience in the industry. We’ll be travelling from place to place, so we’re looking to work a day or two at the same establishment. If we could get work regularly, it would go a long way to keep us from spending nights on park benches.
