California to FRA, Zurich or ?
Fri, 05/11/2012 - 10:34
I am in need of help finding somewhat reasonable tickets for a family of 4 for the month of August – most likely around August 10-14 through August 22-26 to travel from California – SNA is my preference – but can do LAX – or even if cheap enough SFO . Heading to FRA preferably but will go anywhere into Europe and get train to FRA. We’ve gone annually for 15 years – but these prices at $1500 make it out of reach – and a 92 year old grandmother isn’t getting any younger
– I’ve never used consolidators and not sure how that works -but at this point am up for anything that gets me a better price!

I didn’t do an exhaustive search, but using Kayak’s flexible dates search I see a variety of dates in your range from SNA to Dusseldorf with one stop and no ridiculous 12 hour layovers for about $1100. You can then grab a train from the airport in Dusseldorf, change in Koln, and be in Frankfurt in under two hours for about 40 euros if you purchase early.
