I am looking at fares for end of May early June out of Chicago, landing in Paris or London with Chunnel to Paris. Any information you can dig up will be appreciated. I am searching as well.
Dublin, Paris, Rouen, Arromanches-les-Bains, Antibes, Èze, Venice, Florence, Pisa, Rome, Bari, Corfu, Igoumenitsa, Kalampáka, Athens, Delphi

i found some helpful info in another thread that said if u can leave the last week of may, u can save a bunch… so im aiming for that week now. still cant really see any noticeable price differences between Jax, Orlando, MIA and Tampa tho.
Amsterdam, Bruges, Paris, Caen, Barcelona, Nice, Cinque Terre, Florence, Rome, Athens, Corfu, Venice, Interlaken, Gimmelwald, Munich, Salzburg, Budapest, Prague, Berlin, Amsterdam
Ft. Lauderdale – FRA 604 Condor (new service, nonstop flights)
MIA – MAD 638 Air Europa (new service, nonstop flights)
Ft. Lauderdale – MIL 770 Condor
Ft. Myers – DUS 773 Air Berlin
Orlando – DUB 715 USair
https://flightfox.co…
Those Condor prices, as far as I can see, are in the $600’s one way.
If you look on Condor’s website they are indeed more expensive, but Orbitz has some dates for the $604.
I see the Condor flights FLL-FRA May 25-Jun 11 …
$597 Vayama.com
$604 Travelocity
Looks legit when I clicked-through to check availability.
https://flightfox.co…
Unfortunately, it’s not working for my son’s late April-into-May dates.
I’m just seeing this:
$605 + $428 taxes & fees = $1,033 USD per person
The routes go into effect May 14, and the USA destinations don’t especially work anyway.
I am still seeing the Ebookers fare that was halfway decent, I was just hoping to pay less for shoulder season.
One might try farecompare.com. It is a good website to search several possible landing points in Europe. For example I put in DFW (Dallas Fort-Worth) and under $1000. The results were 660 to Ireland, and multiple spots in Germany for under 800$ and Greece for $823. These are just examples but well worth a look. Also Kayak.com has been a bank of good fares for me also. Good luck and hope these help whoever needs them.
Rome, Florence, Lyon, Marseilles, Nice, Barcelona, Ibiza Town, San Sebastián de los Reyes, Córdoba, Seville, Granada, Madrid, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam
Zürich, Interlaken, Berlin, Budapest, Prague, Vienna, Venice, Mýkonos, Istanbul, Dubrovnik, Zürich
I am watching the various New England to France routes for July and August and they are at $1,000+ for the last 3-4 months.
When they get below $900 it will be time to book I think.

Is January too early to book considering I’ll be travelling from May 1st to June 10?
I just saw 764$ CAN for a roundtrip from Montreal to Amsterdam. Usually, it’s more around 900$ CAN but I’m no expert. I remember paying over 1000$ CAN for the same route about 2 years ago (although I was travelling during the summer peak).
Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, Český Krumlov, Bratislava, Budapest, Kraków, Lviv, Chişinău, Tiraspol, Odessa, Kiev
Hugo, is that a total price? If so, I think that’s not bad, and if the times work for you, might as well book it. It’s remotely possible the price will drop by $100 or so, but quite likely it will rise.
Yeah, that’s the total price. Actually, I’m thinking about coming back home from Kiev. I’m heading east anyway and I want to visit Ukraine. Total price would then be 918 $ CAN with a connection to Amsterdam; which still seems pretty good since I can’t find any one-way flight from Kiev to Amstedam under 250$.
Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, Český Krumlov, Bratislava, Budapest, Kraków, Lviv, Chişinău, Tiraspol, Odessa, Kiev
Fort Lauderdale – Frankfurt $619 outbound by May 28, airline: Condor
Newark – Dublin $743 outbound by June 15, Continental
JFK – Madrid $799 Air Europa
LaGuardia-ZRH $730 by May 30, USAir
JFK-PRG / WAW-JFK open-jaw $871 outbound by June 9, LOT Polish Airways
JFK-CPH $625 outbound by May 21, Icelandair
JFK-LHR $693 outbound by May 25, Kuwait Airways
Remember: Airfares have a shelf-life! If any of these look good and fit your needs, I recommend you go ahead and book now.

ITA is showing BOS/JFK to GVA/BRU/MRS/ZUR in the $600-$800’s departing the second half of August. Airlines include:
US Airways
Iceland Air
Finn Air
Alitalia
Mixed Intineraries – Air Canada / Swiss, Jet Airways / Brussels Airlines
I got BOS-GVA for Jul28-Aug22 at $730/each for a family of four. That’s about 40% less than the prices in the $1,100 range from the past 3 months.
I searched all major Calif. airports with the original criteria (see first post in this thread):
SFO – LON $825 outbound by May 19 – Virgin Atlantic
SFO – LON $885 outbound by May 23 – Virgin Atlantic
SFO – MUC $843 outbound by June 9 – Air Berlin
SFO – VIE $845 “ “ “
SFO – DUS $737 (*$712) outbound by June 9 – Air Berlin. X-ref this with Airberlin.com, looks like you need to return to SFO by June 30 to get this price, and it does look like a special offer —meaning, as usual, a limited shelf-life. If it works for you, book it now. *It’s also a little cheaper than ITA shows — only $712 using today’s conversion rate and booking direct with AirBerlin.com.
SFO – WAW $979 outbound by May 18 – BA
SFO – BCN $962 outbound by May 17 – BA
SFO – MAN $949 outbound by June 2 – British Midland (op by United under codeshare)
Keep in mind that these are published fares currently offered. Consolidators might be cheaper; it can pay to shop around.

CHI-DUB $796 by May 31, American
CHI-LIS $766 by looks good midweek outbounds all summer long!, USAir
CHI – IST $787 by May 16, Turkish Airways
CHI-WAW $987 by June 5, LOT Polish Airways
NYC-LON $614 outbound by May 22, Kuwait Airways

I saw that SFO-DUS earlier this week, and was tempted, but I’d have to add DUS-LON and ROM-DUS on Easyjet or Air Berlin. I’m telling myself that if I wait for a sale I’ll find something comparable without having to piece together separate flights. In the last week I’ve gotten e-mails from Aer Lingus advertising first winter and then spring sales, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we’ll see something for summer soon.
please keep us updated on any sales! my flight dates are holding steady at $932
Amsterdam, Bruges, Paris, Caen, Barcelona, Nice, Cinque Terre, Florence, Rome, Athens, Corfu, Venice, Interlaken, Gimmelwald, Munich, Salzburg, Budapest, Prague, Berlin, Amsterdam
Batty, the $750 to ZRH departing 4 nights earlier won’t work for you, then?

Going to Spain (Malaga, Seville, or Madrid) mid to late June 2010 from the Midwest (probably Chicago.)
I’ve found fares just over $1000, but nothing under. Best fare is on Iberia.
I’ve looked at aer lingus, british airways, air france, and on and on. No problem going to another city and transferring, but I haven’t found anything better.
Should I wait it out?
Málaga, Marrakech, Seville
Catroo, please start a new thread with your question, and be sure to check out our new user thread at the top of this forum.
https://flightfox.co…
Catroo, I’d wait it out since Madrid and Barcelona have been two of the cheapest European destinations the last couple of years. Last year I bought in March and paid about $600 for San Francisco to Barcelona returning from Madrid. I’m not expecting to get anything quite that cheap this year, but I’m sure you should be able to get under $1000.
First up… I see a nice early summer sale out of Boston with airline Swiss. For example…
BOS FRA 693 Swiss outbound by June 9
BOS ZRH 676 Swiss “
BOS DUS 679 “
BOS MUC 701 “
BOS NCE 696 “ by June 2
BOS BUD 695 “ by May 27
BOS CPH 708 “ by May 28
More coming in the future when I have time to hunt fares. Please feel free to add any bargains you find for summer 2010 to this thread.
Hey guys and gals I’m back on here again! Sure missed everyone.. I hope Don is still here! I’m hoping to go to Hungary again in may 2010! Alizka
Well everyone, I never made to Europe in 2010..I ended up in ICU for 2 months In Feb. with spectic infection, I got from a shot I had in my knee to help with pain. When I was able to go home from the hospital rehab, I still needed Critical care for 4 more months with VNA. Then I had to go back in for another few weeks again for more surgery. That time for complete knee replacement and to clean up the bones in my left leg from the infection. I am learning to walk normally all over again! I am using a walker at this time. I am Thanking The Lord that I am still here. I Pray I can go to Hungary, Poland and Slovakia in May of 2011. I hope I am allowed to use my hanicap plaque over there. Good to be home and read all the great info here. Alizka..Hi Don, I can’t find these prices anywhere.. I’m traveling May 23-July 4 as Sunday was the only lower fare day I found. $1300. Please help me find a cheap flight. I’m leaving from Boston going to Budapest…Anywhere from May 20th returning early July…Thank you for any help.. Alizka

Good to be home and read all the great info here. Alizka..I’m flying from Seattle into Paris mid June, out of Dublin mid July and I’ve been watching the fares for a couple of months. I finally went ahead and bought tickets at around $1200 each directly with the airline. Felt a little dizzy after that I’ll tell you. Friends kept telling me that I might hit a sale later but given that I’m flying peak season and from the west coast it would probably only be for $100 or so lower and sometimes the fares just keep going up. Anyway, the cheaper fares on sites like kayak, 1800flyeurope ended up not panning out. I’m flying open jaw so I expected it to be more expensive but flying out of Dublin actually cut down the price for me. I hope there is a sale in the future for people waiting to buy for summer 2010!
Good luck to everyone!
Alizka, please start a new thread with your itinerary and where you’ve already checked (so we don’t repeat efforts). Note that I checked stays departing late May-early June staying only about 3 weeks. Since you need to stay over 30 days, coming back during peak season pricing, and since the sales from that original thread from several months ago are probably long gone, we need to start fresh with yours. Put it in a new thread and we’ll help ya’ get sorted out.
Seaprof, thanks for letting us know your itin. and the best you found. I would have suggested 2 things for you: 1. a simple round-trip to Dublin, with add-on to Paris to see if that would have been significantly cheaper; and 2. PacNW consolidator Travelteam.com, as well as other consolidators with multi-city searches (Cfares, Airdeals, EconomyTravel, etc.).
https://flightfox.co…
Thanks Don! Yes, flying RT to Dublin and adding on Paris was about $50 cheaper so would have been a good option for others. Flying Ryanair would have been even cheaper. I just didn’t want to make another stop (or take the chance of getting bumped with Ryanair!) as I’m flying with kids.
MIA – GVA 727 JULY! Usair

Thank you for your help and reply Don. You were ALWAYS A GREAT HELP HERE. ALIZKA

Just FYI for anyone looking to fly out of the middle of the US to central Europe.
Just booked a rate of $893.61/per person from Kansas City to Krakow, Poland, May 19th to June 7th with onetravel.com. Only one stop in Chicago on the way out, but coming back is a little weird (one stop in Chicago, and one stop in Milwaukee).
There are some other fees charged by onetravel.com, but it puts the ticket at around $900. For getting all the way to Poland from a smaller airport like MCI, I thought this was a fairly decent ticket.
We played with the dates a little, and coming back on Monday, June 7th saved us a bunch of money (instead of the weekend).
Kraków, Zakopane, Košice, Budapest, Bratislava, Vienna, Český Krumlov, Prague, Wrocław, Kraków
I have looked extensively on every website I know of and listed on the thread for the past 5 months for flights from Atlanta leaving on June 14th landing in Amsterdam and returning on july 20th coming from Barcelona, but I cannot find ANYTHING under 1200. I can’t even find roundtrip flights to any city in Europe from Atlanta apart from Dublin for less than 1200. I am so stumped. Can anybody help?

Just found some good Air France fares to Edinburgh:
SFO-EDI $719-789 outbound by May 27, lowest fares by May 26
JFK-EDI $679-$860 lowest fares if outbound by May 26, higher good until May 31
If you’re outbound that last week in May it looks like you have to return in about three weeks or less to get these fares.

Blally, take a look at itasoftware, if you haven’t already. Not sure which flight interests you. I saw the $832 STL to MAD on ITA using the 30-day search tool. That flight is through Iberia departing in May for 12-13 days.
Rates jump in June. I’m still holding out for a better fare in mid-June.

Well I booked it up last night… My ideal flight was from Tampa to Amsterdam direct for the dates of May 17 – July 22. But I comprimised and I’m now gonna depart outta Orlando. I got the tickets for $870 RT with one stop in Philly. I really couldn’t budge on the dates, or the fact that I had to start and end my 67 day trek in Amsterdam, so I’m happy I was able to lock in at this rate considering some of the prices I’ve seen this summer. It woulda been nice to score a $500 ticket, but I’m just glad the waiting game is over. Now I’ve just gotta book my 2 intercontinetal flights (easjet and aegean) and ill be done! Just wanted to say thanks guys for the help… especially Don!
Amsterdam, Bruges, Paris, Caen, Barcelona, Nice, Cinque Terre, Florence, Rome, Athens, Corfu, Venice, Interlaken, Gimmelwald, Munich, Salzburg, Budapest, Prague, Berlin, Amsterdam
Amen. About a week ago my wife and I booked our tickets to Europe for May/June using miles we were originally saving for tickets to Thailand for summer of 2011. I’m so glad to not be looking anymore.
Surprisingly, I just found a very cheap summer flight from New York (JFK) to London (LON) on SwissAir. The flight departs June 11 and returns July 7. Total cost, including all taxes, is just $661. This was booked directly on the Swiss Air web site.
Hope that helps someone out there.
