egypt, sinai, & israel winter 08/09
Sat, 09/13/2008 - 14:38
i am probably going to go on the birthright trip to israel this december. i would like to extend my stay and spend some more time in israel, see a few pyramids in egypt, and do a quick nile cruise, and go to mt. sinai.
the “cheap” tours i found that cover all of the above except israel, are a bit more expensive than i would like, and the dates might not work. i like the idea of traveling with a tour because im going to be alone, and just want to get in the touristy things (going to extend my stay in israel and just wander solo).
anyone know any real cheap tours that combine both egypt and mt. sinai with a nile cruise? would you recommend me just staying in cairo and maybe doing daytrips to pyramids and an overnight to mt. sinai?
many people told me to skip mt sinai, but it something i really want to see. ideally in egypt and mt. sinai i just want to get enough in to do the touristy things like maybe a 2-3 day nile cruise, see the spinx, climb mt. sinai and thats about it.

Why would anyone tell you to skip Mt Sinai, possibly one of the holiest places for you to visit? It would be interesting to find out why?
London, Brussels, Basel, Paris, London
the person said given a time constraint just to skip it because it is out of the way and to just go to more museums….. i agree with you though. i know i am making a special trip for mt. sinai, but it is a place i have always wanted to see.
In that case, he is right, how far is it? What do they have there now? any idea?
London, Brussels, Basel, Paris, London
well it is a religious site which would be important for me to see. ive always wanted to see mt. sinai since hebrew school and the 10 commandments. basically it is the kind of thing where you are staying in egypt and have an extra night or two in town. you take an overnight tour that leaves really early in the morning, and then comes back the next day. there are trips leaving from eliat in israel i think, but they are more expensive and take longer.
lets go together
i wanna take another trip around the new years
hah. well if you are serious, email me on here!
What part of Israel are you looking to be in?
Would be an interesting experence though
Im hoping you’ll be somewhat close to Tel Aviv
o man, looking at the u.s. travel website regarding israel, kinda scares me to go
yeah the trip ends around tel aviv. im hoping to go to some beachy areas (i realize it will be in the winter but i dont care). i also really want to go to mount sinai which seems like a pain to get too.
o sweet
the one i found says i am suppose to be jewish, but im catholic

i looked into the birthright trip to israel and i doubt im eligible, or maybe i was looking at the wrong website
do you know around what days the trip ends? i couldnt find a time schedule
i was looking on going anytime towards the end of december, hopefully staying for christmas and maybe the new years
o yea, you have msn messenger? probably could be a bit easier talking on there
you have to be jewish to go on that trip.
i dont have msn. i have aim.
haha damn
yea thats what i thought.

how much longer were you going to stay in israel after the trip ends?
Or should I say, do you know what day your trip ends?
we could meet in Tel Aviv when your trip ends. Figure out a way to get to Mt Sinai from there
that would be Adventurous
hi. you know they havent given out dates yet. if somehow i am able to get a december 7-17th date, we can meet on the 17 or 18. im not planning to leave till maybe january 3rd.
December 17th is perfect if you can get those dates.
Lemme know as soon as you find out. I am considering it =]]
