Has anyone successfully booked a Eurolines bus on-line? I’m trying to book from Vilnius to Riga. www.eurolines.ee seems like it should work, but I can’t enter the departure and destination and the pulldowns are blank. www.eurolines.com links to a list of cities, but no information on how to order if you click on “international ticketing agency” and then “Lithuania” in the pull down.

Would I have any problem buying the ticket in Vilnius a couple of days before departure, which would be September 3 or 4?

...lots of time playing…

alright, i think i have figured it out.

  1. go to www.eurolines.ee and switch to english
  2. in the ‘Departure’ box paste in ‘Vilnius’ (without quotes) -> this will populate the drop down
  3. in the ‘Destination’ box paste in ‘Riga’ (without quotes) -> this will populate the drop down
  4. select which Riga station you want to go to
  5. fill in the rest of the info as you see fit and click ‘Continue…’ and your off to the races…

cheers…

Thanks, I know this took some effort. Unfortunately, I can’t get this to work either.

I can’t get a “paste” with a right click, from the edit menu, with an “alt. e” or with “ctrl v” when I’m on the eurolines site. This is using firefox. On IE, I get a bigger “departure” box, but still can’t type or paste into it.

I’ll try the laptop….

could not get this to work on the laptop, either, so it’s perhaps an ISP problem. Maybe I’ll try from another locale.

I have the same version of firefox on both my mac and my windows machine. It is easier to troubleshoot in firefox, so I will focus on that.

Is the problem that you can’t actually “type” at all in the box? Or is the problem that when you type in the box it does not update the drop down list rendering the app useless?

If you can type in the box, but it does not update the list the problem is probably because your Javascript is disabled. (I don’t think this is what is happening, but just for completeness. This is the only way I could break it when testing.) You can check this by going to:
Tools -> Options -> Content (tab); The third box down should be ‘Enable Javascript’, this should be checked…

I don’t think this is what your problem is, but I want to make sure. I think the problem you are having is that you can’t actually select the box so a cursor shows up and this is making it so you can’t even type in the box. If this is the case, I am going to see if you can select the box by using TabIndex instead of clicking to select.

Here is what we are going to do:
Load this page
Without clicking on anything, hit the tab button a bunch of times and you should see the links at the top of the page being selected (aka – a little dotted box around them) and every time you hit tab the dotted box will move. We want to move the ‘selected item’ all the way down to the Departure box (on my machine it is 19 tabs in a row). You will see the links for the languages selected first, then it will move across the top menu from left to right and then it should select the entire booking box and then the next tab should put you in the Departure box.

Keep in mind that for some reason the cursor may not show in the box even if the box is selected, so you may have to just guess and start typing when you think you have the right box selected.

Let me know if this helped at all. If not, then I am not sure but if you notice anything that may help me let me know and I will see what else I can do.

Cheers…

I get the dotted outline in the destination box, but the drop down list is blank (just one line in firefox, about 5 lines in IE) and I can not type (or paste) in the destination box at all. It could be a java script problem on the desk top. I think installation failed on the the last java update I tired to install — although that should not be the problem on the laptop as I’m pretty sure it’s current on java.

I followed your instructions and got to the destination box — which had the dotted outline, but still could not type or paste in it.

Thanks for all your efforts.
