Favorite German city
Tue, 10/20/2009 - 17:37
whats your favorite German city AND why? least favorite AND why?

My favorite German city is definitely Munich. It’s beautiful and have never had a bad people experience. Everyone has always been helpful telling me what’s the best place to go see or do something. All over good experiences
London, Reykjavik, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Brussels, Warsaw, Kraków, Prague, Innsbruck, Berne, Geneva, Rome, Budapest, London
I agree with Nlo on Munich. Has some great old buildings, a vibrant nightligfe and for me at least, some of the best beerhalls. Places like the Hofbrau Haus ooze traditional german hospitality. The 1L. steins, the singing, the dancing…I love it. Let’s not forget the greatest outdoor beer gardens in the world too If you like to drink beer and eat sausage, and rub shoulders with the locals, Munich is the place. And if you get tired of that you can skip down to the Alps for a litle rest and relaxation

oh and it’s so easy to get around in!
London, Reykjavik, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Brussels, Warsaw, Kraków, Prague, Innsbruck, Berne, Geneva, Rome, Budapest, London
St Goar and Berlin for me!!
Bamberg….about 100 kms from Frankfurt. Beautifully preserved old town…home to the Schenkerla Brewery and restaurant (they make a beer with a smokey flavour). Lots of beautiful riverside beer gardens. I think Bamberg is a UNESCO world heritage site.

Berlin, definitely. It just has a very cool vibe, and there is so much to see and do. All of the different neighbourhoods are so different that it seems like a lot of different towns all packed into one. And of course there’s the history.
Other cities I like are Leipzig, Regensburg and Cologne.
Munich’s not really all that special imho.
Regensburg is just beautiful and you probably won’t encounter too many tourists there!
Bremen! It’s gorgeous, especially before Christmas time, all those markets and decorations – wonderfull!
