Flying Pig Downtown?
Wed, 04/13/2011 - 20:22
I am going to spend four nights this june in Amsterdam with 3 of my other friends we are all 18. I was just wondering if any one has stayed at the pig and what their thoughts were. It seems to be the most famous/popular hostel in amsterdam and I was just wondering whether or not it was worth all the hype.
Thanks

I have not stayed there, but from the stories I heard it is the definition of a party hostel. If you are in Amsterdam to party, I’m sure you’ll like it.

I stayed there last year for 4 nights with a buddy of mine. If you like party , smoke , and have a good time this is the place for you. When we stayed there it felt like it didn’t quiet down till 3 or 4 am. If you enjoy your sleep and quiet time , I would go with a quieter hostel like the Bulldog or St. Christophers. I also stayed at both of those and while they were a little more expensive it was much quieter. The Bulldog might as well be a hotel , it really doesn’t have that hostel feel you get at most places. St. Christophers sits above Belushi’s bar and has an artsy feel to it. Every room is painted different and gives you a new experience everytime you go. Hope the information helps and enjoy your trip to Amsterdam!!
