Im in the process of finalising all my budget and costs for my europe trip. But one question alludes me.
Foodbill.
IS there anyone out there that can give me a ROUGH estimate on costs?
IE how much would it cost to buy some milk and small cereal packet?
How much would bread cost?
Few pieces of Fruit?
Maybe some 2minute noodles?
simple quick stuff like this from a supermarket?
ALso whats the cost of dope n shrooms in Amsterdam like?
1 reefer equals 10?15? euro??
theres are the small figures which are hard to find online.
Any help wuold be much appreciate, and ill even shout ya a few drinks shall i bump into you on my europian adventure!

Hello,
Not to be too vague, but it really all depends on where you are. For example, in London, it seems everything is more expensive, whereas, I felt that things were cheap in Poland.
Self-catering is always best for a budget traveler. How many meals do you eat a day? Are you a big eater ir average?
I think mabye average about 10-15USD a day (to be safe)if you are traveling to varying regions.
Something like bread basically cost me the same everywhere, between 2-3 dollars (but i was eating heartier breads, white breads may be cheaper)
Happy travels
It depends on what country you’re in. In most of western europe, I got a full meal at the supermarket for roughly 3-5 euros, which included small carton on milk, banana and/or apple, yogurt, luchmeat and some bread, and maybe a bottle of water or a desert. Those same items costed more in the UK and scandanavia (over $1us for a little carton of milk in stockholm, but 45-65 euro cents everywhere else). Of course it was cheaper in eastern europe, where you can eat out a lot instead.
Sorry, can’t help you with the going rates for "dope n shrooms"
Most guidebooks have descriptions giving estimates of costs for daily meal costs of "budget", "mid-range", "luxury", etc. for individual countries. You can also take a look at this from Lonely Planet’s online worldguide under "Money & Costs"

I have really no idea where in Europe U’re going but I’m sure it’ll help www.oanda.com/conver… if u wanna know any currencies. It’s great !!! Also, about prices. West Europe is expensive, and the same goes for all the places in Scandinavia, where prices are skyhigh (especially Norway). From Czeck Republic, and all the way to the East, prices are vey low, if U compare. Good luck !!!
How much would it cost you at home if you were buying all of your food every day from the grocery store and living off of that?
As a rule of thumb, expensive countries will cost about twice what you would have to spend in a major US city for groceries, and inexpensive countries will be somewhere from half to equal the amount. So if you would spend $15 USD per day at home, figure on something like $30 in Oslo or $15 in Berlin (just as an example).
Of course on the road you’ll have to be flexible, because you won’t be able to get exactly the same stuff as at home (at least without paying a huge premium).
I’m not claiming the above rule is infallible; it’s just a way for you to ballpark expenses.
Some excerpts from last week’s trip spending:
Paris:
5.47 euros – gyro, fries and coke
5.27 – baguette hot dog and a coke
16.35 – picnic for 3 at Eiffel Tower – lg. rotisserie chicken, broccoli, bagette
2.00 – nutella crepe
10.00 – plat du jour at one of many nice cafes
Nice:
11.65 – groceries: bagette, 1.5 liter coke, lg. box of cereal, 1 liter milk, yogurt, butter and a pain au chocolat.
Rome:
8.60 – McDonalds dinner for 3: 2 hamburgers, 1 cheeseburger, 1 bacon Royale, 1 McFlurry and 1 coke
1.70: pre-wrapped deli ham and cheese sandwich on Italian bread from grocery at Termini (the best sandwich we had all trip)
6.50 – spaghetti bolognese at nice outside cafe
Venice:
7.50 – lasagne bolognese at nice outside cafe
1 – gelato
We came in way under budget on food. It’s pretty easy to eat either cheap or expensive. It just depends on your choices.
