Football (soccer) Games

I am in Europe all of July and August and would love to catch a football game while I am there. I have a fear that their season has ended and won’t start till the fall but maybe there would be some exhibition games played during the summer. If anyone has any links or somewhere with a “universal” schedule of some sorts that would be great. I have checked out some different team sites but haven’t received much help through that. Thanks for your help.

I’m not sure that such a thing exists. Your best bet would be to check individual teams’ websites for any friendlies they may be playing in that time period. Problem is, a lot of the bigger European clubs have started to tour Asia and the Americas and as such won’t be at their home stadium where you’ll be anyway
I’d just check wikipedia or something for a list of clubs in whatever country you’re going to, then go from there.
Good advice from Feicht. We did bump into a match in Inverness (Scotland) one August.

The EPL has some fixtures set. Check into the other leagues as well. Some will not kick off until September.
Take note that finding tickets isn’t always easy and sale policy varies from country to country.
Thank you that is great help. I’ll just keep checking soccerway.com along the way and I may luck out and run into a game somewhere! Thanks again.
If you’ll be around London, I just found out Arsenal is going to be having a bunch of friendlies, but all the ones that were convenient for us are sold out. If you’ll be around there on the 19th of July though (the day we leave
) they play against Real Madrid! I’d love to see that….
The English football season starts 16th August for premier league teams and the week before for the lowers leagues. The majority of the other European leagues tend to start a week or two after this. Your best bet will be to either look at team websites as friendly matches are arranged during this period, or to go on major websites:
England – http://news.bbc.co.u… http://www.skysports…
Spain – http://www.soccer-sp…
Italy – http://www.lega-calc…
Germany – http://www.dfb.de/in…
This is just an idea of what to look for.
I’m going to be travellign durin August myself and want to see some games. The good thing is that preseaon games are a hell of a lot cheaper than league games, plus teams play all over the place so theres pretty much games wherever you are.
Hope this helps.
