My wife and I work as English teachers in Seoul, South Korea. This August, we will be returning to our home in the USA, but we’d like to take a detour through Europe on the way.

Here’s the problem: we’re not really sure what to do with all of our luggage while we’re hosteling and jetting around western European countries. We can’t leave it in Seoul, obviously, but we can’t take it with us on the European leg of our trip. Mailing (even via boatmail) is cost restrictive.
Is there some way to, say, fly into Rome but have our luggage forwarded to Paris and stored ‘til we complete our voyage? How does this sort of thing work? Any insight?

This link at the Italian rail company website may help:
http://www.trenitali… It looks like you can accomplish this for 40 euros per very large bag.

P.S. Assuming you’re leaving from Charles de Gaulle in Paris, see if you can have your luggage shipped to the station that’s in terminal 2 at CDG. I would allow several hours to retrieve your luggage — possibly even staying overnight at a CDG hotel. There are numerous hotels at CDG — including a Sheraton that’s on top of the train station if you want to splurge, a Hilton that sometimes has good prices and 2 fairly inexpensive Ibis hotels.
