Make photo copies of the above listed items as well as your passport. Put in ziploc bag at the bottom of your daypack and one set of copies in the bottom of your backpack.

ÿ Journal, glue stick, tape, scissors. (place in ziploc bag)

ÿ Address book or computer labels.

ÿ Notepad and pens. (pens go in a ziploc bag)

ÿ Rain jacket (for rainy or cool days in the Alps)

ÿ Cheap Wristwatch.

ÿ Camera & plenty of film. Place film canisters in a large ziploc freezer bag for protection.

Bungee Cords for train compartment doors.

ÿ Shoes – casual/needed for dancing & museums.

ÿ Shoes – tennis – You may walk up to 10 miles per day. Break new shoes in before the trip.

ÿ Sandals – for shower, cheap .99 cents at Sav-on or Drug Stores.

Toiletries Kit You do NOT need everything

on this list. Many items you can purchase over there when needed.

ÿ Antacid – carry a few tablets.

ÿ Antibiotic ointment

ÿ Aspirin – carry a dozen tablets in a small box.

ÿ Band-aids – carry just a few.

ÿ Birth control pills / condoms.

ÿ Chapstick or lip balm.

ÿ Comb and/or hairbrush.

ÿ Contact lenses & solution. (extra set ?)

ÿ Decongestant- Prone to headaches on planes?

Take one before takeoff.

ÿ Dental Floss – Great for cutting cheese for picnics and replaces thread.

ÿ Deodorant – Take a stick – NO aerosol cans!

ÿ Desenex or Micatin – for athletes foot.

ÿ Disposable tissue packets.

ÿ Drugs – Prescription Drugs ? Keep in original

containers with legible prescriptions.

ÿ Hair conditioner – If you have to use it, bring it!

ÿ Imodium – excellent for diarrhea.

ÿ Moleskin – prevent blisters which ruins trip.

ÿ Nasal Spray – Great for hay fever victims.

ÿ Sanitary products – Tampons and minipads.

ÿ Shampoo – place in ziploc bag.

ÿ Sleeping pills – great for the flight over.

ÿ Soap – small wrapped hotel bars are great or a plastic squeeze bottle.

ÿ Suntan lotion – waterproof SPF of 15 or more!

ÿ String for hanging clothes after a wash in sink. Stopper/hand ball for sink drain.Soap

ÿ Swiss army knife with corkscrew.

ÿ Towel – Bring one for hostels & beaches.

Cut a towel in half for more room in pack or buy one of those new chamois towels.

ÿ Toothbrush & Toothpaste.

ÿ Travel size / emergency sewing kit.

ÿ Wet Ones (unscented) great to freshen up after train rides, after a visit to the restroom or a one night stand.

Washcloth If you must have one – bring it!

*Plastic grocery bags are great for packing

clothes separately and for a dirty close bag.

*Extra ziploc bags in assorted sizes are great for

separating currencies, leaking bottles, etc.

IF YOU PACK EVERYTHING ON THIS LIST, YOU HAVE TOO MUCH.

Lay everything out on your bed and grab each item and ask yourself if you will ever use it and if it is worth carrying it around for your entire trip.

Leave all your valuables at HOME!

Buy cheap jewelry at each city if needed.

Do not bring wallets or purses.
