I’m sure this is another Contiki marketing intern who’s paid or gets some sort of bonus for pitching Contiki.
I much prefer independent travel and going solo is, IMO muich preferable to any kind of organized tour. Anybody willing to put in enough energy to find this website will be happier as an independent traveler.
I’ve never heard of anybody hating a Contiki tour, but most of the rave reviews have proven to come from marketing interns….
my guess is that it was tictactoe88 first and maybe the last trip to europe.
going on a tour is not really traveling europre and getting to know the culture and people, as far as I’m concerned a toue misses the whole point of the eurotrip, you don’t get to choose the most importent things, where, when, for how long, and which sites you are going to see which sucks.
about the alone part and not having friends tictactoe88 does not know what she is talking about, because solo does not mean alone you always meet people in hostels, and can always find people to tour the city with you and go out at night, and if you really click even continue the trip togther.
women can and are traveling solo and having lots of fun so don’t give up your trip, or your original trip because of nightmare stories that people who probably never been to europe or only been to with a group tour tell you.
Last time I was in Europe, I went on a group tour with a Contiki Tour. There wuz so many freaky single chix from all over I ended up shagging a different nationality each day, sometimes 3 at once. Groups are so much more fun.

If you aren’t getting paid for promo’s you should be, I like the sound of being in a group.
I would first like to say I’m very sorry about causing so much disruption. I have traveled a bit, and been to Europe five times, each time with a very different type of experience. I’ve been there to compete, been there with family, and been with Contiki. While I have not traveled alone, in the sense of backpacking, going on the tour, I was alone. I was just talking about my experience. I had a blast, and thats it. I love traveling, and believe me, reading what everybody has to say about their own experience is giving me more ideas on where I would like to travel to and do next. Again, very sorry.
