The other option is to have your host or your hotel send a cab to the airport from the destination instead of you booking a cab from the airport to your hotel.
e.g. If i take a cab from Heathrow to Willesden green it costs me about 35. However if I have someone send me a cab, I do it for 25.00 GBP
