I’ve been looking for a place to stay in Munich for 10/5/07 to 10/07/07 and have not been able to find one.  Does anyone have any leads??  we are 2 males traveling from Texas…this will be my 2nd Oktoberfest and I’m taking a friend for his first!  Last year I had a blast and unfortunately I had to wait until now to make sure I had the time off since I got a new job! that’s why I’m now looking.  Help!!

It will be tough… if you happen to be arriving in town early in the morning, like 6am-ish, you can try walking into the hostels to see if they have some beds opening for that day:
http://www.euro-youth-hotel.de/
and
http://www.wombats-hostels.com/

The Station Hotel has a room for $115 a night per person:
http://www.easypalace.de/station-hotel-hauptbahnhof/english/hotel-buchen.php

otherwise you can pay $200 a night per person:
http://www.hostelworld.com/availability.php/HotelNymphenburgMunich-Munich-18809

or you can camp for $60 a night:
http://www.munich-oktoberfest.com/wiesnengl.html

If you find nothing in München you might get lucky in Augsburg, last train to Augsburg departs 0:09AM.

Just a reminder… there are still last minute ads for private appartment rentals from 30 euros a night on toytown.

http://www.toytowngermany.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=73177&st=20&start=20

appartments are really the way to go during Oktoberfest because by law they cannot double their prices during the fest like hotels do.

I noticed some folks were expecting larger groups of 6 to 10 people, and some cancelled, etc. There are a couple of such accomodation postings on Tripadvisor/Munich Forum.

Seems that the evening and afternoon table reservations went fast this year (even for weekdays)!
We better get there early.
