Horseback riding in Scotland
Sat, 01/29/2005 - 01:37
I’ll be in Scotland with a friend in late May, I was just wondering if anyone knew of a place where we could go horseback riding that’s not terribly expensive and will still have beautiful scenery. Although from what I’ve heard/seen of Scotland, its all beautiful. ![]()
And also, if there are places that do offer day trips, are they good for beginner riders? I’ve only got about 10 months of english style riding under my belt, and my friend has ridden only once or twice in her life.
Thanks!

If you go as far North as Aberdeenshire, there is a school in a tiny village called Oyne. Oyne is aprox 30 minutes from Aberdeen. Anyway, the owner’s name is Sean and he is a fab instructor and rider.
Here is a link with some pics, http://www.horse-rid… .
And here is their info (also on the net):
Bog End Farm
Oyne, Nr Insch AB52 6RB
Scotland
Tel: 44 1464 851 332
Cel: 44 7710 445077
Hope that helps!
Thank you!!
That’s perfect! And my friend can even hit on the Scottish instructor, which will make her very happy haha.
