hostel/lodging during Oktoberfest
Fri, 06/08/2007 - 18:19
I decided that I will be in Munich during this years Oktoberfest for 4 days, but I noticed that all the online booking sites had practically no availability for any dates during the festival. The only availability that any had was a day here or there and there are no consecutive nights available. What are my chances of finding a place to stay if I arrive early and look. Will people cancel there reservations and spaces open up? Any suggestions on where I might look or what I could do? Thanks.

Yes, there’s always a certain pct. of cancellations. If you go during the week (M-F), I would say you have a pretty good chance of finding a room… Especially if you are going solo. Try hitting these places – near the fest grounds, and I think you have a pretty good chance of getting a room via cancellation on weekday mornings:
ension Seibel
Hotel Jedermann
Hotel Kurpfalz
Hotel Amba

Yea, if your staying anywhere between the 27th of September, to the 8 of October.. they are sold out. Hope you guys get out out there and have fun, safely.
Guys.. if you have leads on hotel rooms… let someone know.. .. there are a lot of folks out there looking for rooms… I have actually filled up the Hostel at which i will be staying with a bunch of prospective Beer guzzlers.
Normally I am able to find my own accommodations through booking.com or venere.com or eurocheapo.com
Great websites
this year I couldn’t find anything within budget
So I went to info@statthotel.de
And they are an intermediary but I got a nice room with a minimum deposit close to the festivities.
If you are having problems finding a place contact them, I think they will do well for you,
Yes, a very good web site and group of people…
