Hi I am stumped as to where and how to find a flight found on ITA Software. I found a pretty good flight that could work with my itinerary. CAD$991.85 from Toronto to Munich— return from Marrakech to Toronto. This includes all taxes. On the ITA site it suggests to book through a travel agent and to be certain to use the exact codes to match the price they found http://matrix.itasof…
I checked Orbitz and Expedia and both came back hundreds higher.
Does anyone have any experience with pinpointing where and how to actually find these flights online. I provided the link ( if it works) if anyone can recognize the codes as a clue on how to search. Thanks alot in advance.

ITA sometimes finds fares for which there just isn’t availability. I tried Kayak and a couple of consolidators and didn’t see it either. Maybe Don will have some ideas.

I tried Cfares, FlightNetwork, and Expedia.ca — no luck.

ITA’s initial search results show this fare with Swiss, with segments handled by partners United and Lufthansa, so… also try this itinerary direct with those airlines’ booking sites.

I did find cheap flights with Easyjet from Marrakesh to Madrid currently offered for Sept. 3 (21 Euros), so maybe consider coming out of Morocco on a low-cost airline, and getting an open jaw (a.k.a. multi-city) flight in/out of cheaper hubs — MUC and MAD, for example.

Have you tried the tips and links in our new user thread — top of this forum?

Here’s something I just thought of …

Since you will be travelling with 2 youths, ITA might have searched youth fare classes. “Chaperones” can sometimes be booked on the same fare. Check GenerationFly.com as well as Swiss and Air Canada for the youth/student price. If those don’t turn it up, then also check Travelcuts.ca and STAtravel.com

Hi thanks Augustin and Don. I will check the trips at the top of the forum. I checked Generationfly but could not access their site cause I don’t have a .edu email. I also checked Travel cuts online and also called their 1-800 and the agent could not find it. Also I suggested that it may possibly be a youth fare and agent said not a chance cause these are 2 airlines and as they have their own student fare the 2 airlines would not combine a price for this. Next up is STA travel and could Not book out of Toronto. I then searched ITA again using 3 adults and then 1 adult and 2 youths and this is what was found today, same days http://matrix.itasof…
Also I searched coming one day earlier and price jumped to 1400 on KLM.
Tried Swiss and I can’t find a Multi route option. (Swiss.Canada) to even check this.
Thanks for all your suggestions I don’t know if I am doing something wrong but this is pretty mysterious.- I;ll keep trying maybe its just not meant to be.

Swiss, Lufthansa, Air Canada, and United are all part of Star Alliance, and often codeshare on each others’ flights. As long as one of them “codes” it for all flight legs, then student fares are possible. If you still can’t find it, then call Swiss to see if they can book it over the phone.

If you still can’t find it, after exhausting all sources, then have you considered the Air India flight to Heathrow ($770 total), then using low-cost flight hops from Morocco back to London?

Thanks Don, I have considered it but Munich was in my Destination anyway. I called Swiss and no luck, their fare was around 1500.

I’ve found that tripadvisor.com often comes up with the same flights as ITA and are easier to book.
