Terrific article, Vera…suggesting that these immigrants—even if they are illegal—contribute to the building of our economy and the revitalization of "urban" America and its suburbs.

Knowing this doesn’t automatically change one’s POV on the subject of illegal immigration, but it does add another layer to a very complex, two-sided debate.

Vera, I don’t think anyone here is saying that legal immigration should be ended. This article you posted is focused on economic contribution by LEGAL immigrants. Nobody here is claiming that immigrants make no contributions. What we were talking about are people sneaking in here illegally in the millions.

I’ve still yet to see why importing mass poverty into the country via illegal immigration is good for America.
