Hello everyone! I am traveling with my husband to Munich, Cesky Krumlov, Vienna, and Krakow from August 9-20. We are in our mid-twenties and plan on backpacking. I have never been to Europe before, but my husband has been once before. I would love some suggestions for hostels, restaurants and sightseeing in these cities! Any suggestions and recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Hi.. ..!
I am steevenn. When I was searching some good stuff about traveling I came across to this forum and I just stumbled on this site and was so excited to join. I like this forum as well I found it very much informative. I’m glad to be a part of this forum. I hope, this forum would be very helpful for me.
hi, it is a very good site. i like this site, it is given more information for travelling.
Ann & Cornelius O’Quinn here.
We operate a teaching farm in California, and we have hosted farming interns (through WWOOF) from all over the world.
We have traveled together to Ireland as well as Bali. Ann has also traveled in Mexico, Hong Kong, and China.
Now we are planning our Euro trip for May and June, 2014.
I dropped all the cities we have family and friends in on our trip planner but have no idea about the following:
1)What the best order and route would be to accomplish all of these destinations
2)What is the cheapest european airport destination we should fly into to start our trip (coming from either LAX or SFO)
3)If there are others out there planning to travel to some of the same places during the same timeframe that might want to meet up.
Cheers!

Requesting help with Transport, Hostels, Budget, Itinerary
Hi OQuinn,
You’ve got a pretty diverse list of cities, but here are some thoughts…
London, Paris, Amsterdam are all close together and connected by very fast and frequent trains. Figure out which of the 3 is cheapest to fly into and then figure out how to visit the other 2. Go from that area to either Budapest or Zurich and go from Zurich to Turin. A cheap flight or an overnight ferry gets you from Italy to Greece. Look for another cheap flight to Istanbul. Daugavplis is a couple of hours by train (or, I think, bus) from Riga — look at Air Baltic for flights to Riga — probably best from somewhere in Northern Europe. They run good sales about every 6 weeks, so sign up for theAir Baltic e-mail sale notices. I’d try to spend time in all the Baltic countries, but if you can’t work that in, at least plan a few days in Riga.
Look into flying home from Istanbul, Athens or somewhere in Italy. Use the multi-city option to search for flights — you might find something nearly as cheap as a round trip and it will save the time of expense of getting back to your arrival city for a roundtrip flight.
Hi My name is Charly, and I’m 32 yrs old. I’m from California.
I love to travel and currently planning the first trip to Europe with my wife and 3 yr old. I am planning a 3 wk trip in September covering France, Switzerland and Italy.
I have put the details of the places that we are planning to visit under ‘Euro trip 2013’. I would really appreciate any insight on the places I have chosen. Please also let me know the economic airline option from SFO to Paris in September. Thanks in advance!!
London, Paris, Zürich, Lucerne, Lauterbrunnen
Welcome, Trip 80! You’ll want to post your airline question in our “cheap flights” forum. Your trip looks fine — although I’d look at spending time in the Alps as opposed to in cities in Switzerland and I’d visit Pisa as a day trip, rather than packing up and moving there — especially traveling with a three year old.
Hello,
My name is Emily and I’m planning on traveling with my mom to Europe in a few years once I finish college. We our on kind of a strict budget of $6000 which must include flights and travel between countries. We are planning to visit Italy, Greece, Germany, France, England, Ireland and Scotland all within 2 weeks. I know it sounds impossible to visit all these countries in that short of time, but I’m staying optimistic. Any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Rome, Athens, Berlin, Paris, London, Dublin, Edinburgh
Hi Em. Welcome!
I think your budget is adequate for 2 weeks, if you stay in private rooms in hostels, eat from street vendors and markets with the occasional cafe or pub meal, and are careful about city to city transportation costs. Your time budget is a problem — I’m not sure you’‘ll get out of the airport during your single day in Athens! Have fun planning and we’ll try to answer any questions you post.
Hello! I’m Judice, I come from Newcastle Upon Tyne, England. I’m planning a summer trip around southern Europe and Balkans. I want to make my experience as good as possible. What are some must see places around?
If you’re going to the Balkans, Judice, you can not miss Sarajevo! One of my favorite cities in the world. Also, Bulgaria is gorgeous and affordable.

Hey Mim, thanks a lot for the suggestions!
I’m also thinking about Croatia and Montenegro since it’s the summer season and why not spend some days at the Adriatic coast. I need to make a good plan.
Dubrovnik and Split in Croatia are great. If you’re a fan of Game of Thrones, Dubrovnik is where they film scenes for King’s Landing.

Hi Rachit Jain. Your itinerary looks a bit rushed and you’ve picked some expensive cities, but you’ll have a great time and if you’re friendly you’ll meet new friends.
As you can guess, I am new here. Not a young person traveler; more seasoned but have not traveled to Europe, which is the goal for this summer. I am from California and will be traveling with hubby and brother in July – visiting London, Paris, Venice, Florence, and Rome for 3 weeks. Tickets bought, London and Florence hotel booked. Struggling with the rest of the cities, most places to stay are booked (summer is a popular travel time).
Anyway, desires are to travel the world and figure out how to get back into my artwork.
London, Paris, Venice, Florence, Rome
Hi ntdelute! Looks like a great trip. I like to start out with a guidebook to choose hotels. Let’s Go and Lonely Planet are my favorites. Check the hostel booking service here even if you’re not into hosteling. It has good prices on smaller, moderately priced hotels.
Hello All,
My name is Meegan, and I am planning of backpacking around Europe this summer after my semester abroad. I am from Vancouver Canada and will be taking classes at Bern University in Switzerland. My goal is to see Italy, Greece, France and Spain while spending as little as possible. I will most likely be traveling alone but I might have the opportunity for my sister to join me after my schooling has finished.

Hello _
I’m Shevi and 26 years old (young) and from Milan Italy.
I like to travel but not as often as I would love to.
My main interest when traveling are the city’s main sites and everything that would include Nature and Animals. Not a very big Museums fan, well not even a small one XD
Hope to make alot of new friends.
Hello everyone, my name is Randal I’m 25 years old. I just graduated college and am looking to celebrate by taking some time off traveling through Europe. I’m joining the site looking for advice and insight for my trip as well as to share my experiences after I’m done. I’m planning a 65 day trip that includes flight and I don’t have a set itinerary for the trip yet. Some of the countries I definitely want to visit are: Spain, France, Germany, Italy, Croatia, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Austria and Belgium. I would be interested in seeing a few others such as Sweden, Portugal, Romania and Hungary, but I know I will be restricted on time and money eventually so they might not be possible. Trying to see some of the major cities, but I would really enjoy visiting some cities that aren’t on the beaten path as much. Thanks for reading and I appreciate any advice given.
