Is it just me

Or are we being spammed by hostelclub.com with fake posters infiltrating threads?

Then there’s Dataprocessing, too.
They’ll always find a way around. sucks.

Also, I sent an email to JHurtz who has been posting the ads in the forums. Hopefully this will stop that activity.

Mim, you should delete the user Hirehackers.
Also, this site has been back to it’s extreme slowness again for me today, just like it was a few months ago. Is there anything we can do about it? It’s taking waaaay too long to open up every post. Thanks.
S-still slo-o-o-ow today.
Not to be contrary (really, I’m like Switzerland!), but site speed is fine for me. I haven’t noticed it to be any faster or slower than usual. Nivid and Cil—maybe it’s a memory problem? Have you cleared your temp files lately? Rebooted lately? Just some ideas.

Here’s a dumb question, how do I clear my temp files??? Haha. Maybe that’s the problem since i’ve never done it (that I know of anyway).
Haven’t noticed any change in speed either. Will look into it, though.

My only problem with "slow" is getting the www.eurotrip.com/for… page to open up in the first place — interestingly there’s a lot of grinding of the hard drive. Think my firewall is pretty secure but it makes me wonder what Wandrian is either looking for or writing to my hard drvie. Sometimes the log-in is slow, but otherwise everything’s pretty fast.
I usually delete temporary files, erase history and reboot daily, but I don’t think that has any noticable impact on speed.
Well, what gets me confused is why it’s just this site. Every other site is fast as always, but this site is EXTREMLY SLOW. It takes at least a minute to open up ONE post. This is probably the 3rd time that this has happened to me…….
Nivid, if I remember, go to Tools, Options, Delete Temporary Files (I don’t use MSIE any longer). Alternatively, try www.ccleaner.com aka Crap Cleaner—download and run it (it’s free). It will dump all the junk for you.

I am in the same position as Nivid. It only happens with this site.
I get the feeling that the chat function might have something to do with it, but I don’t really know.
Thanks for posting the link to the Crap Cleaner, Don. I installed it and did a little house cleaning. (My problem is that my computer is not really "my" computer, it’s become sort of the auxiliary machine for everyone else in the household There really is a lot of crap in it.)
However.
Eurotrip is still slo-ow for me. It took me five minutes just to get into this forum and post on this thread.
Thanks for the link Don, i’ll try that out. I don’t use IE either, just Mozilla.
Cil and nivid, if you haven’t restarted your computer, then you should do that too. Restarting will defragment RAM and should make things run faster again.
https://flightfox.co…
Yes, I did restart, Don. Well, today it took about two minutes to open up this forum and post to this thread. I guess that’s progress. Oh and yeah I’m using Mozilla too.
I restart everyday, so that’s not the problem. I even switched to my "faster computer" that I had when I was away at school, and i’ve only seen a little progress. I really don’t get what’s going on. But since this isn’t the first time this site went slow on me, i’m sure it’ll be back to normal sometime soon.
