Just saw this posted on Airfare Watchdog. If you can fly out of JFK and want to travel between now and March book this immediately because it will be gone in no time. I didn’t find $291 but did find $315.

Correction: People on flyertalk are saying they’re finding fares to Milan, Brussels, Madrid, Barcelona, & Budapest pretty low as well using Vayama, Travelocity, Kayak, and Iberia’a own website. Some fares are good for long stays (e.g. leaving Feb. and returning June) and there are some really low fall fares too.

Awesome. AF Watchdog is Tip Central for amazing fares like this—when (& if) they pop up. I’ve tipped them maybe 2 times this year, but probably got 10 back from them that were as good, or better. Oh, and I always post my finds here on ETrip first!

I still haven’t seen any bargain fares to MAD or BCN, just some that route you through there. I just put JFK-CDG, MXP-JFK on hold for 48 hours for $680 total for me, my wife, and a lap infant (she’s $72). Now I just have to figure out how to get from SFO/SJC/OAK to JFK cheaply. I’ve got $500 in Continental vouchers that I need to use by 12/29, but their prices for SFO-JFK are over $450 for our dates (1/8-1/18), when most other carriers want about $300. I’ve got enough miles to get a free ticket from United, and could get another for $120 using their cash + miles option for my wife, but the award seats available make it impossible for us to make the JFK-CDG flight. Maybe we’ll fly a day early and spend a night in a Priceline hotel or something. I’m trying to make this cheap, but also as easy as possible since we’ll have a three-month old with us, so I may just scrap the plan.

The good news is that I have a brand new iMac, the bad news is that there is quite a learning curve going on for me right now.

I probably got an alert from Airfarewatchdog but lost it, and I missed the Flyertalk post.

Seeking cheap fall fares to CDG but not finding any. Flying out of JAX to MIA, ATL or JFK, or maybe we’d drive to MCO. I’ll keep looking.

hey—MIA to CDG, $540 all-in for early Sept travel, not bad.

I’m so bummed. I figured out a way too do this for just the $680 for all three of us, but some things came up and it would be so hectic to pull off that we have to pass. Going to watch my reservation hold disappear in 4 hours Frown

I’m right there with ya.
My days of being spontaneous may return at some point, but right now we can’t just book tickets and then work everything out afterward.
