Just curious if anyone has any tips for good jogging routes in some of the major European cities. I’m doing some archaeological work across the pond this summer, but will be doing some travelling before and afterwards. Namely: London, Rome, Athens (the rest are places small and/or rural enough that I’m sure it won’t be an issue).

I guess this doubles as a “hostel post” as well, since it would obviously be more convenient to stay somewhere that it would be convenient to pop out the door at 5am to start jogging, without having to ride a bus to somewhere it’s less likely I’ll be stabbed or run over

I am traveling for 51 days
Bath, Haltwhistle, London, Füssen, Freiburg, Stuttgart, Speyer, Nördlingen, Salzburg, Hallstatt, Salzburg, Rome, Ostia Antica, Athens, Delphi, Athens

In London, there are a lot of hostels near Hyde PArk where you will have great jogging in the park. Athens and Rome might be a bit more difficult – but maybe someone else can chime in?

Yeah I’ve been looking at a few in that vicinity, actually.

As for Rome and Athens, I think you’re right. Someone told me about a park a little to the north in Rome that’s good for jogging, but all the accommodation in the area is astronomical. I wonder if running along the Tiber is a possibility; but if it’s something where I have to share the space with mopeds, it’s probably best avoided. Athens though I have no ideas.

Few places I suggest for joggers to be the best places – Parc Monceau, Luxembourg Gardens, Champs Elysee, Ile St.-Louis. Smile
