First we have Hillary Clinton’s original gaffe, which, in this New York Times article, is explored here (free registration required) along with the aftermath.

Then, we get a reporter calling the candidate “Osama” and joking about his possible assassination.
It’s about one minute thirty seconds in.
Ironically, she declares Hillary Clinton “tone deaf” concerning her RFK remarks.

Hillary’s comments are not in good taste, but what she said doesn’t surprise me. I think it reveals a little more of who she really is. However, I do think it became a spark that was easily fanned and flamed by the ever-hungry squawk-box “news” hounds, always eager to sensationalize to get more exciting tv and charge more for ads….
Liz Trotta (with Fox now) has been around for a long time. I remember her from when I was a kid.
She has since apologized for her “joke” (and I do think an apology was called for).
I agree that HRC’s comments were a bit inflamed by the news hounds.
Oh ok, so Liz is a Fox news reporter and not a commentator. Just to clarify what I mean, in print news, there are reporters, and there are commentators. Commentators are on the Editorial or Opinion pages. Reporters are supposed to be non-biased when reporting (as if that’s generally true for ANY “news” source these days!).
I saw where Li’l Kennedy said he understood Mrs. Clinton’s comment to be about the primaries, not about the assasination. Cooler heads might prevail?

I think the Kennedys (and Obama for that matter) were (in private) perturbed; HRC has repeatedly (3-4 times?) referred to RFK over the past months. I mean, how many times must June 1968 be mentioned? But they are just playing it cool. Nothing is to be gained by acting outraged.
Several things HRC has said were wrong, though:
“I, guess I remember in June of ’92 that’s when Bill really wrapped up the nomination, the middle of June after the California primary. Um, You know, I remember very well what happened in the California primary in 1968 as Sen. Kennedy won that primary…” Her husband’s campaign was not long, it was effectively over in March of ’92.
Tsongas left the battle because he did not want to be “the spoiler.” Hmm.

Neither was RFK’s a protracted campaign; his first primary had been in May.
HRC basically just keeps digging herself a deeper hole. It’s sad. I am sure she is exhausted.
Trotta is indeed a reporter, though it appears that she was being interviewed as a pundit in the video. Kind of a bringdown for her to be at Fox—I suppose she is reflecting her current workplace.
Yeah fox is an extremely biased news station for the conservative party. Which isn’t all that bad all you have to do is watch one of the liberal ones and the one of the conservative ones, cut it down the middle and somewhere in their is probably the true story.
