I am trying to find a ticket to leave l.a for nyc on the 23rd of september for a wedding and then fly to munich on the 28th for the end of oktoberfest. Spend 3 weeks in europe and fly back from dublin on the 19th of october. Can anyone please advise me on when I should buy my tickets. The cheapest I found was 952. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I am leaving from Los Angeles with $3000 for 27 days
New York, Munich, Prague, Amsterdam, Dublin, Barcelona, Birmingham, Dublin

Where did you already check? Did you try all of the links in our new user thread @ top this forum?

Cheapest ticket(s) for this itinerary might be available right now for a Sept. 23 departure, or next week, or in a month. I would want to book this at least 21 days advance for a shoulder-season* departure (*Fall/Spring). Keep in mind that demand to southern Germany is high in late Sept. due to Oktoberfest travels.

There’s a few different ways to check this itinerary. Ideally nonstops LAX area > NYC > MUC / DUB > LAX yes?

However, LAX-NYC on 1 round trip ticket, plus NYC>Germany/DUB>NYC on a second ticket might be cheaper overall. Or… NYC>DUB round trip, with DUB>Bavaria on a one-way ticket. Be sure to try Cfares, Kayak, and Momondo especially for multi-city flights. The intra-Europe flights, like possibly Dublin to Bavaria, also check Skyscanner.net.

Also check LGB, ONT, and BUR airports if you could use them. Jetblue serves them to JFK and sometimes fares are cheaper.

If you can’t get something cheap to Munich, also try STR and INN.

found a ticket for 994, i just jumped on it for fear that it would keep rising. I got the insurance on it just in case I find something cheaper but, like you said it’s gonna be a tough due to oktoberfest. I even had to book a hostel in Augsburg cause of the high demand…Thanks for the tip.
