This topic is really great. I really want to travel and work in Europe next year but was a little aprehensive about doing it alone.
Most of the posts I’ve read were of people going for a couple of months and that’s it. My plan was to quit work or get a leave of absense for a year, sell my car and move back home for a couple of months and then take off to Europe. I’d like to travel Europe and areas for a couple of months and then find a location I really like and find work there. I’m in the computer industry and I’ve heard there’s lots of work over there. So, I’d probably like to be over for a year at least, if all things go as planned. I won’t be able to go until next year but that will give me more time to get all my finances in order and be better prepared. I’m only 21 years old and I think that this would be a great time for me to go, though I’m am worried about selling everything and moving back home and quitting my job if need be, but I think it would be a chance of a lifetime. I’m just concerned about the prospects of going over there for that length of time and alone even though I really think I would enjoy the alone thing but maybe just the safty issues. Has anybody gone over there for that length of time or more and what kind of advice would you give to someone like me?
