I just flew them on Thursday… for the last time.

Oslo-based low-cost airline “Norwegian” moved quickly to express interest to CPH Airport: http://www.cphpost.d…

Sterling and Norwegian actually codeshared some routes already. The first article says the board of Sterling is considering offers. It wouldn’t surprise me if Norwegian took it on.

Sterling was part of this Icelandic investors (see first article) airline group which included huge chunks of Finnair, Easyjet, and Icelandair. I recall posting on this forum (3-4 years ago?) a predicted “IcyJet” cooperation for more low-cost transatlantic flights, as the investors hoped to grow Sterling into Europe’s 4th largest low-cost airline, and dreamed of launching low-cost transtantic flights from Copenhagen.

Edited to add: here it is — http://www.eurotrip….

An article in The Copenhagen Post print edition states that Air Berlin, Easyjet, and Norwegian have expressed interest in taking over the carrier’s operations. I’ll keep the forum updated on how Europe’s 4th largest (?) low-cost airline fares. This could be helpful for Eurotrippers considering low-cost flights to/from/within Scandinavia, and on north/south low-cost routes.
