Hey!

maybe you read: I’ll be in Portugal in July and maybe in the Western Europe in August, so contact me if you decide to visit Portugal (it’s worth going, trust me) and if you need some information about Italy, don’t hesitate to ask…
Hope you have a great time visiting EuropeSmile

bye

t.

Hmmm I haven’t stayed in hostels, they aren’t so cheap… I would reccoment any of these sites for an alternative free place to sleep: couchsurfing, hospitalityclub or travelersfortravelers(the newest=least expended).
All of Italy if worth seing as far as sightseeing is concerned, while as for “hanging out”, from my experiences Florence is great, lot’s of students there(maybe too any from the states for you though). Ther’s a great pub in the center.. how is it called? I forgot.. but it’s just arround the corner from Snata Maria dell’Fiore. Just follow the voicesSmile And I hear Torino is quite a party place alsoSmile Although I think in general it’s true for any place: You’ll find what you’re looking for, you just have to startSmile Like someone said before: no better place to start than a hostel pub. And if you have a host, they will take you out(or where ever it is you want to go)Smile))

ps: I’m no “bro”, I’m a girl… haha

I just started traveling on my own last year, so I don’t have many experiences with these sites (otherwise I was luchy enough to get a cheap hostel or stayed at a friend’s hous etc), but I plan on using them this summer.
I might be in Spain, but not for long, just ar a “transit” country on my way back home if the flights turn out to be more expensive than tha train, otherwise I’ll stick to PortugalSmile

SoCal, I am Orange County and will be doing the same trip from July 26 to August 10 except starting in Rome and ending in Paris.

We may pass each other…

I am using a Eurorail Global pass to get around.

Are you going to any events like the Air races or the F1 Race?

I wanna see Portugal and I have 3 and a half weeks to do it. I haven’t decided yet what to do but the options are;
– working in some other city than lisboa for a week or so
– discovering Pt with a car, getting a cheap old one with someone (not likely, as i’m going alone) and just drive where ever, decide at the crossroad weather to go left or right, staying mostly in camps. I like this option the most, because this way you can see a different side od “the people”Smile
– moving from town to town by train, staying in hostels. It’s a good option, but it makes you stay more or less at the seaside
– gotting arround by bus or hitch hiking, which I absolutely want to do at one point, but don’t want to do it by myself. I wouldn’t feel safe.
in any case I want to have a good time and meet peopleSmile))

The Spain part seems more and more unlikely to happen as I got accepted to a workcamp in Lisbon and I won’t have time to drive home for 3-4 days and stopping on the way. i’ll probably just catch a flight from Lisbon. SkyEurope is still pretty cheap in comparisson with train.

No, no, noSmile You got it all wrongSmile
I’ll work for a week or so if I don’t earn enough money till July. if I work I’ll have 2 weeks left to travel, and If I don’t work, I’ll have 3weeks and a half left to travelSmile
And after all this I’ll do the workcamp (which is acctually volunteering camp, lol, not payed, as you probably assumed) which lasts for another 2 weeks = 5 weeks total! And after it I don’t know yet in what a hurry I’ll be to return home (some ther traveling may lay aheadWink). And if I+m not in a hurry, the I’ll take the train or wahetever home over Spain, France, Swiss or Italy.
