Hi,
I’m planning to travel around europe for a month starting June 29th and still haven’t arranged any transport. I was wondering if it would be worth me getting a rail pass, or buying tickets individually as I go along. I can’t seem to find pricing for the latter option. I’m unable to use Eurail because I’m an EU citizen, but I think inter-rail is similar to it. My itinerary is as follows:
Paris – Jun 29, 30, Jul 1, 2
Berlin – 3, 4, 5, 6
Prague – 7, 8, 9, 10
Vienna – 11, 12, 13, 14
Munich – 15, 16, 17
Venice – 18, 19, 20
Florence – 21, 22, 23, 24
Rome – 25, 26, 27, 28
I’m flying into Paris and back from Rome but need advice on the best way to get from point to point.
Any help is much appreciated.
Nick

http://www.interrail… I think inter-rail will probably be a good deal for you. The price is based on your country of citizenship/residence.
I’m traveling to Copenhagen and planning to go to Bergen and the fjords, and I just wonder the best way to get there by my own.
Wow, I just made a nice reply for rrsuarez, and it vanished… into the ether. I’ve made thousands of replies here, and I don’t think I did anything wrong. Hmmm… 1 more time, just the main points:
fly: sas.dk or sterling.dk
overnight ferry DFDS.dk Copenhagen-Oslo dep 5:30pm arrive 09:30am, transfer to train* highly recommended train trip
or, train or bus to western DK, stopover (since it’s a long trip this way; good beaches out there), then ferry to Kristiansand, train to Stavanger, ferry to Bergen.
I’ve done them all several times and will be glad to offer further input or feedback.
Maybe start a new thread with this question???
I don’t know how to move part of this thread to a new post — maybe I’ll try some copy and paste later today when I’ve got more time.
Google “norway in a nutshell.” The Norway in a Nutshell self-tour will provide some descriptive information to augment Don’s post.
