This is how it works.
Editors and Moderators: You now have a block on the right called “Moderators” with a link to “Pending Comments”. Please try to keep it as empty as possible.
In order to validate a comment, click on ‘edit’ and then under ‘Administration’, select Publish and thats it. If you choose to delete a comment in the approval queue, the users account will remained locked.
How the flow works:
- When a new user posts for the first time, their account is locked and the comment is put in the “Pending Comments”.
- The account remains locked until an Editor or Moderator approves the comment.
- When the comment is approved, the users account is unlocked and they are sent an email to notify them.
- The user will still have to enter a CAPTCHA challenge until they become a Trusted Member, at which point they no longer need to enter a CAPTCHA.
I tried to test this functionality as well as I could before rolling it out, but it is possible I missed something. If you think there are problems please comment on this thread (if you can) or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hopefully this resolves our issues and thank you for your patience…
