Funny how I always make my way back to this site.

I have to be in Frankfurt-area by 2 or 3 June, will be staying there for most of the month, and then ideally spending 2 weeks or so doing other stuff before flying back to BOSTON (or NY, I guess) around 15 July. Initially I was searching for MSP – FRA, ZRH – BOS as I know IcelandAir would cover this, but prices have skyrocketed over the past month. I am not really super-picky about where I’d fly out of in Europe, though the going plan is to do a bit of hiking/camping along the Via Alpina, so that would narrow the options a tad.

Any ideas?

I just tried it with ITA using +/- 2 days to FRA,DUS and a bunch of cities coming back to NYC,BOS. Best published I see is with… Icelandair. MSP>FRA 2June / MUC>BOS 17July. I didn’t check consolidators, though.

Then I expanded cities some more, and spotted $921 MSP>DUB 31May / DUB>JFK 15,16,17 July. ($978 return to BOS instead).

Thanks, Don. Yeah, I’d gotten similar results with ITA. Sadly, back in December I was getting prices in the upper $800s, but didn’t bite because I wasn’t sure if my presence would be set in stone yet.

Naturally, now everything I’m seeing is closer to $1300 The DUB open-jaw for around 900 is tempting, but getting to/from Dublin is a real pain from what I remember Smile (only having done it once). And I am going to have a big heavy bag this time, so RyanAir’ing it to Hahn could potentially end up wiping out any money saved.

But, thanks as always for the help. I’ve signed up for Airfare Watchdog as well, so (fingers crossed) hopefully something will come up (well, down) over the next month or so. Otherwise I’m just gonna have to snatch something before the prices get insane.

Well drats, six weeks later and it’s still holding steady at over $1200. Now I’m getting worried if I don’t just buy one soon it’s going to shoot up over 1500 or something crazy.
