Optifly!!!

Optifly is a great new tool for planning your flights. Instead of wasting hours paging through Expedia and Orbitz searching for the right flight with the right price, Expedia lets you immediately see all route possibilities and which carriers fly these routes. They even return all low cost carriers, so you won’t need to manually search those sites for options either. You can even click to compare to Expedia prices.
On top of all of this, Optifly actually maps your routes within Google Maps so you can SEE where the flights are headed. This helps determine which flights are completely out of the way, and help you see if there’s somewhere you want to stop en route! It’s really quite exciting.
There’s also great city info for every connection city in the world- like weather data & links to passport info & travel guides. It’s the next big thing in travel planning.

It doesn’t show you the prices though, so you have to click through each of the routes to find the pricing for that route. I have to do way more clicks this way, so I am not sure I see the point…

Yeah, Vayama’s been doing maps for a while, and I’m not sure that’s a selling point for me either. Tell your boss to aggregate major consolidator and consolidator resellers, such as Tiss, Justfares, Cheapflights, Airdeals, EconomyTravel, together with all published and lowest fare-driven route construction, including LCCs, and you might actually have something that is superior to what’s already available. As it stands, I can go to BookingBuddy and get a very thorough fare search in 3 minutes, including some consolidators and Vayama; if I add BookingBuddy-UK then I also get low-costs, except the non-players like Ryanair and Southwest.
Unfortunately, Vayama’s mapping is not as effective as Optifly’s. Optifly uses Google maps, which is reliable and most people are very familiar with it. In addition, Vayama’s presentation methods are ineffective as they only show origin and destinations, and not the connection locations between. For example, KUL to STL suggests a direct flight. False. I’ve also found multiple flight pairs that don’t even work. Finally, there is no integration of map and detailed route view on the same page. Viewing this information on a single page is important, and only Optifly does it.
Optifly plans to soon integrate price data as it is the obvious next step for a site of its caliber.
So in case the pilot gets lost, we can always run up front and offer our Optifly maps.
I never said that Optifly offers undisclosed flight PATHS… just that they actually included and displayed connection locations, which is important when trying to determine the most direct flight, or when interested in making a connection in a city you wish you explore en route.
And if it’s sarcasm and not travel assistance you’re interested in showcasing, I’d recommend you check out failblog.com or fmylife.com. They could use your insight.
Sarcasm? I have no idea what you mean.
Kelly, you should have noticed that our forums are devoid of spam. I have tolerated yours up to this point by not removing your unsolicited posts.
UUUuuh this is a good tool, thnx!
