has anyone been at picos de europa
if so, how is it?
is it worth the trip
and where is the nearest big city to the mountains?

I spent a month in the Picos during the summer of 2001 and thought it was great.  I stayed in a small village near the town of Potes.  Once in Potes you can arrange hiking, mountain biking, etc.  Pote can be reached by bus (or rental car) from Santander, which is also a nice city to visit.  Let me know if you have any more questions or need help finding information.
