I wanted to upload a picture to my profile, but can’t find where to do it. I’ve tried “edit profile”, “settings” etc., am I missing something?
I haven’t been on this site in ages, it has become very hard to use now (and extremely slow)

i am trying to take care of the slowness by putting it on better hardware. i was hoping to have it done by now, but the process has been slow. it looks like the end of the month is when it will happen.
it should be in ‘edit profile’. below ‘first name’ and above ‘birthday’ should be ‘profile picture’… is it really not there? it is there for me, so let me know if you still cant find it.
cheers,
will

also, what has changed that has made it harder to use? if there is anything you can think of specifically, i would be interested so i can improve it…

Thanks, I don’t know how I missed that :O Is there any way to upload a photo from a URL though?
Things I don’t like about this forum: – There are so many different features that it’s hard to find the ones I need. E.g. the only way I can find to edit my profile is to click on my own username. – All other fora I use have a “new posts since your last visit” option. This one has “active topics”, but this only shows some new posts, not all since my last visit. I don’t want to read every single subforum every time to check for new posts! The overview of “active topics” also doesn’t mention which subforum the topics are from. – I kept getting e-mails about threads I’d posted on. I have now disabled all subscriptions so I hope that problem’s solved, but I don’t understand why I got them in the first place since I never changed anything about my profile and never used to get those mails before. – When I click on “forum” on the main page, nothing happens. I have to choose a specific subforum, but not all are listed (e.g. this one, unless I’m missing something) – Dates are confusing, it seems to be month/day/year?
And apparantly (as evidenced above), pressing enter once doesn’t have any effect on the final post, though it does on the screen before posting.
There is currently not a way to upload images from a url. If you want to, you can download it to your computer and then uploaded it.
You can get to your own profile from “My Dashboard” at the top of the page.
To view all the posts since your last visit, click on “Unread Activity” in the top right under “Forum Activity”. There is not need to go back to your profile to get the posts you have not seen, you can get there from any page.
If you do not want to get emails for the topics that you post to (thats turned on by default), go to “Subscriptions” in the top right, and then go down and click on “Settings” at the bottom middle of that first page. You can adjust your “Auto-subscribe” settings however you would like…
There is only a subset of the forums under the Forum tab (the popular ones) so we did not have a huge list. I may change that… The fact that clicking on the forum button does not take you to the forum is probably a bug. What browser are you using? Version?
The dates are in the format of month/day/year. It was requested that I change it to that because most of the users are from North America. I think it should be day/month/year, but my vote does not seem to count.
I will check into the pressing enter issue…
Let me know if that helped or if you have more questions…

Actually I suggested day/month/year when the upgrade was made here. The site was changed to that for a while and the changed to the current format.
I prefer the international format. It seems logical to me since websites are “world wide” web sites.
So far as most users being North American, I don’t see that as a reason to format for just them. Does this mean that if more none North Americans use the site, the date format would change?
As a traveler, people need to learn different aspects of the world.
Eat the food, use the wrong verbs, and end up getting charged double.
I agree with you, I just got overruled… I will make another push for changing it back to the international standard.
