Poland - 1 week in October
Fri, 08/07/2009 - 17:46
Hey! So me and a friend are planning a trip to Poland for a week in early October. We are flying into Krakow, and planning on staying in hostels the whole time. Wondering if anyone has suggestions for things to do. Anywhere in Poland. We’re 20-somethings not looking to really party but more educational or out of the way places, unique. I’m open to all suggestions especially cheap and good food, and sites to see.
thanks

I have been to Krakow many times. I’d write about it on my blog, but it’s been a while since I’ve been there unfortunately.
Anyway, here’s some tips:
- Nathan’s Villa hostel is a good place to stay. It has everything you need there, including a great bar. – Doing a daytrip to Auswitz is a must. – Do another daytrip to Wieliczka salt mines. It’s a 3 hour tour, but its quite facinating if you haven’t been to such a place before. – Try to get on a tour of the Wawel (Krakow castle). It’s hard but I believe it’s worth it. You have to go very early I think, that’s why I didn’t make it.

thanks so much for the advice!
