So just to confirm I understand what is happening. When you post, the post is not showing up at all? It is NOT the case that it shows up, and then disappears later? Correct?

Was there anything out of the ordinary about your replies to those posts at all? Problems that happen totally randomly are obviously the hardest issues for me to track down because I have no way to reproduce the issue. I will look into it and see what I can come up with.

Another quick question. Did you get any sort of error after you posted? Anything in an orange box at the top of the page that said something like “SQL error on INSERT …” or anything like that?

Heh, I just realized that I came right back and added that I was using latest versions of Firefox and Opera, and even that didn’t make it onto my first post in this thread! Nothing out of the ordinary that I’m doing—that I recall. I have been seeing lots of orange boxes, but not currently.

Yes, lots of orange boxes recently, but not today. The orange boxes did not seem to have any effect on functionality, but once scrolled down, you don’t see them, so maybe they were there when my posts were not, um, posting, and I just didn’t notice.

Also just realized now, 11 hours later, that although I added in my original post top of this thread that I’ve been using latest Firefox and Opera, and I am certain that I previewed it and that text did appear at least in the preview, only now do I realize that update never published.

OMFG what’s going on? 1 reply is missing. My #3 reply in this thread starts with me saying, “Heh, I just realized.” That was #4.

My #4 reply starts with “it just happened again.”

Just happened again. Posted reply about sheets in Hostels and it’s gone. Previous replies from augustin did not show up, but above the first thread there is a note saying 2 replies. I refreshed the page, augustin’s replies re-appeared, but mine still not there. I’ma (yes, I’ma) try (gasp, cough ….) IE tomorrow and see what happens.

we had a little hiccup with the box that the database is on, but that is the only thing i can think of. it would not be a recurring thing if that was the issue unless it somehow affected your account.

let me know if it is still happening. i will try to see if there is anything specific with your account that may cause this behavior…

It’s still intermittent. Seems to happen more evenings, probably 8-midnight. I’m having occasional problems with another website’s forum, too, so maybe it’s my pc. I stay on top of updates using Secunia PSI—don’t know if that’s related to my problem or not.

It’s happening to me too. Replies not going through and it’s also taking a heck of a long time to load… I’m on a T3 university connection so it’s definitely not me…
