Reasonable price for october?

My plan is to stay for 20 days in England, France, and Spain in October. I have done all of the necessary searches on many sites often recommended in this forum and I eventually came across a Virgin Atlantic flight from orlando to london for $1578 all taxes and fees included. (This is for two people.) Before I buy, I thought I’d run it by all of you experienced folks and see what you think. It seems a little too expensive, but i guess that’s normal these days. Any feedback and opinions would be a great help to ease my mind. thanks.

So you want to know if $789 per, total, is good for Orlando-London in October, or if you should hold out for a better fare, right?
How does Farecompare rank it?
Have you considered flights to/from France and Spain as well? Maybe arrive London and return from Madrid, for example, to save backtrack time and expense—if it doesn’t cost that much more?
I’m not sure what yuor exact dates are, but I’d definitely consider Don’s suggest of an open-jaw ticket. I see MCO-LON, MAD-MCO and MCO-LON, BCN-MCO for under or around $800 total for various dates with about a 20 day stay.
My dates are preferably from the 8th to the 28th. I checked farecompare about an open jaw ticket and the best i noticed was only about a hundred bucks cheaper. I’d rather stick with my straight 8 hour VA flight rather than a 12 or 13 hour flight with a layover. It’s worth the little bit of extra cash to me. Plus, we kind of want to end our trip in england, too. We want to initially stay in England for the first week, travel to France for a week, Spain for a few days, and then go back to London for the last couple of days. There is a TON that I want to do/explore in England. So anyway, I guess I’ve pretty much found my best deal???
I don’t see anything cheaper than that right now.
If the open-jaw doesn’t interest you, then $789 each is the best I see currently. I seriously doubt it will go cheaper. As it is, the fare breakdown on this one is $392 to the airline, $230 fuel surcharge also to the airline, the rest is taxes which won’t change. I seriously doubt you’ll see a base fare go less than $392rt for October on Orlando-London, which means the only possible “slack” is the fuel, and I think that’s more likely to rise than drop. I’d probably book it now, especially since the itinerary seems to work well for you, plus it’s nonstop and Virgin is a good airline.
Wait a second… I just checked 1 more time for you, and it’s actually cheaper now to return from Madrid, $766r/t total (MCO-LON/MAD-MCO via Gatwick on return). You have to connect somewhere, anyway, since you can’t fly n/s between Orlando and Spain or France, but if you want one last hurrah in London before return, then I guess that’s worth the backtrack day+added expense of going back (?). Hope this helps.
