rome to krakow
Wed, 11/11/2009 - 10:42
Hi, new here and this is my very first post. I ‘m a touch of a planner
and I l am currently planning August 2010 for myself and 14 15 year old kids. I have been to Europe before total of 3 weeks so I am nervous to do this on my own but this is why I have to plan and understand various things especially transport. The cities I really want to go to are Rome and Krakow but unfortunately I am finding it difficult to connect cheaply to these 2 cities. We are probably flying into Rome but depending on airfare could possibly fly into Paris. I was hoping to go to Rome first. Dates are 1st week of August to last week August. (school break or else I would never go this time of year! I do not mind visiting Amsterdam and or one city in Germany but we are also flying into Marrakech for our time in a Home exchange that is owed to me. So that is why I am thinking to fly out of Marrakech to Paris then home. We have 5 days in Rome, 3 or 4 in Krakow aproximately 7-10 in Marrakech 3 days for travelling. I have to be in Rome 7-12 August and marrakech any time from 16 to 31. CAn anyone suggest anything. I could leave a day or 2 earlier to go to Krakow first but prefer to visit Rome first. On Which Budget all it Recommends Air Berlin but when I go to that sight to flights are available and I played with all kinds of dates.
thank you
I am leaving from toronto and traveling for 31 days

I think I’d use which budget to see which cities have the cheapest flights to/from Marrakech and work from there. Then try adding Rome and Krakow as stops.
Check our cheap flights forum for more help. There are tips there for intra-Europe flights as well as for finding the cheapest entry-exit points in Europe. An open jaw flight might make this easier.
THank you Yes I will look for a cheap flight from anywhere to Marrakech but I was planning on adding one more city, (the city in which to fly from to Marrakech) anyway. But it can’t be Rome because I am there from 7 – 12 and I can’t get to Marrakech until the 16 . My friend from Canada will be joining me and he only gets the last couple weeks of August off. Anyway, my heart is set on Krakow but it is not the easiest spot to get to from Rome I am noticing. Marrakech has to be our last spot before we head home. This is what I am thinking”: Fly into Rome out of Paris because I am sure we can get a decent flight from Marrakech to Paris and from {Paris back to Canada. I hAVe found an ok flight out of Rome into Katowice but how difficult is it to get from Katowice to Krakow. Sounds confusing but I don’t think I am adding too much to this trip. Considering all this does anyone still think I am looking at from the wrong angle.
ANY advice or input will be appreciated
Thankyou

Katowise to Krakow will be very easy. It’s a little over 1 1/2 hours by train with at lest 1 train every hour. Use the German rail system website for schedules anywhere in Europe. http://reiseauskunft…
Thanks Oldlady,
Can I find the train right at Katowice Airport to Krakow Glowny?

Looks like you have to take the bus from the airport to the city and then catch the train to Glowny. The bus takes 50 minutes and the bus schedule appears to be designed to mesh with flight arrivals. http://www.katowice-…
yes thank you, that is a good plan to know of.
