Fri, 12/19/2008 - 14:48
I have an alert on Stockholm and just received a notice today of a good fare for next summer. This fare may have been around for awhile and it was just triggered for me.
I was checking Atlanta-Stockholm and could get it 15may 09 through 30aug 09 for <$1000 all in for Fixed Economy. It seems to be the sale listed on their website, but my final fare is less than promoted.

I couldn’t find this on ITA… is it only valid if you go thru SAS’ site or something?
EDIT: Nevermind, I missed that those were one way prices
Bath, Haltwhistle, London, Füssen, Freiburg, Stuttgart, Speyer, Nördlingen, Salzburg, Hallstatt, Salzburg, Rome, Ostia Antica, Athens, Delphi, Athens
Although it says purchase only at flysas.com, the same price came up through some other sites too. Some cities listed come up at the amount advertised OW, so not so great, but others such as ATL are priced lower than the ad. Unusual for me to find a RT price from ATL to Europe for less than RT from Newark.
I know I am going to Stockholm for a meeting in June and would like to purchase RT for <$1000, so if I was sure of my dates and where else I would like to go for my free days (have been to Stockholm before) to make an open jaw plan, I would purchase now for ATL, maybe not for other cities.

I am still trying to pin down my Scandanavian plans.
SAS is doing another reduction in some markets.
Today I can book ATL-ARN roundtrip for less than $1000 including all taxes and fees leaving certain days in June and returning in early July. These are one-stop routes through Chicago. Able to find on their website, slightly higher on Airfare.com
Their website is also promoting free stopovers in CPH and/or ARN May 15-Aug 30. This offer is available through 2/23, I think, and must be purchased by telephone (which costs $20 extra).
Not sure how long a stopover they allow.
Also saw ATL-OSL roundtrip for <$1000 using CO through Newark, but I don’t like the 757 configureaiton.

Today US Airways has <$1,000 for one-stop RT to ARN and OSL for June.
Those 757s from PHL though.

I saw a NYC to Stockholm a couple weeks ago in the 700-range on Vayama, leaving before July 31st and coming back before the end of August, I believe it was.
Bath, Haltwhistle, London, Füssen, Freiburg, Stuttgart, Speyer, Nördlingen, Salzburg, Hallstatt, Salzburg, Rome, Ostia Antica, Athens, Delphi, Athens
Some of the US Airways flights total <$800 from ATL.

The USAirways fares ($800 RT ATL-ARN June-July) disappeared this evening just as I had convinced my husband to join me on the trip for a few days
Bad timing.
The SAS fares are still available, but I think expire tonight.
I called SAS to check on the stopovers and open jaw as that would make their $960 price really attractive.
There is no time limit on the stopovers in Stockholm, so the agent was checking for 3 days for my husband and 2 weeks for me.
The problem is fare class—by the time you get the proper fare class to get the free stopover, it’s $200 more than a simple RT, so you could buy a separate ticket or take a train. The advantage is it keeps it all on one ticket and you get transatlantic baggage allowance, but we don’t carry that much anyway.
She came up with same price on open jaw as the stopover ticket, so about $200 more than a RT.

Tonight the CO flights are back down to <$800 ATL-ARN or CPH, more to OSL or open jaw for June.
