A Self Catering Onslaught!
City: Ullswater, Australia
A delayed blog post/travelogue but I fancy going again for a short break around the Ullswater area and it brought back memories.
December saw us have a lovely little break at Celleron, a small area near Pooley Bridge. A dog friendly place of course and it has stunning views towards the North Pennines and across the Lakeland fells. I managed to guess every single one incorrectly but luckily, Mike faired a bit better. Mac was really loving play with the owners chocolate lab, I think she secretly fancied Mac if I’m honest!
This self catering cottage in the Lake District was really handy for walking to get a meal at night so we didn’t need to take the car and it meant we were also able to sample their full range of real ale in The Sun pub! Quite a luxury these days.
The weather was wild yet dry so even though if we hung around it felt cold, when keeping moving it was spot on, clear so we could see the fells and most importantly, dry. The walkmwe did passed back through Askham which prompted us to stop for a drink and find a really night place to eat that night, The Queens Head, food really good BTW.
