I’ll be in Spain in June and will be visiting Barcelona, Seville, and maybe Cordoba. We want to see Morocco as well. Any advice on transport to and from Morocco? Also, as two women traveling together, would that be any more dangerous in Morocco from anywhere in Western Europe? I appreciate any input.

I am leaving from Los Angeles, CA USA with $3000 for 32 days
Paris, Florence, Rome, Barcelona, Seville, Amsterdam, Bruges

From Sevilla (or Cadiz) you can catch a Bus to Algeciras and take a Ferry across the Straits of Gibraltar to Tangier. The Bus Company is Comes SA.

I like Morocco: mainly Rabat (the Capital) and Marrakech (Winter Capital). I don’t recommend Tangier unless you can communicate in Spanish (Tangier is in what was formerly (pre-1956) Spanish Morocco), or Moroccan Arabic!

I didn’t find a language problem in Tangier, but I also don’t recommend it. It kind of suffers from “border town” syndrome as there are lots of tours and easy connections from Spain. It reminded me of Tijuana.

I think we’re just going to choose to spend extra time in Spain instead of going to Morocco. Possibly skip over to Lisbon as well. Any input is appreciated.
